Leave Without Pay. (a) An employee, other than a casual, may request leave without pay in exceptional circumstances when all accrued leave has been exhausted. (b) The employee must make such application (i) in writing, (ii) including reason/s for leave, (iii) at least 14 days prior to the taking of leave without pay, (iv) or as otherwise agreed between the employee and employer. (c) The employer has the right to refuse a request for leave without pay at their discretion. (d) Leave without pay is to be taken in week blocks or as otherwise agreed. (e) A period of leave without pay does not break an employee’s continuity of service, but does not count as service.
