Leaving the Bargaining Unit. 10.07.01 Employees who leave the bargaining unit voluntarily to accept another position within the Company shall continue to accrue seniority for the purpose of returning to their bargaining unit classification at their original Location. 10.07.02 In order to return to the bargaining unit, Employees may either fill a vacant position at the same Location or, if none are posted, displace the most junior person in the classification at the same Location. 10.07.03 The maximum amount of time that an Employee may leave the bargaining unit and continue to accrue seniority is ninety (90) days. This can be extended to 180 days by mutual agreement between the Company and the Union. An Employee shall be allowed to move once in the eighteen (18) month period. If the Employee has not returned to the bargaining unit prior to the expiration of ninety (90) days they will lose all accrued seniority. Positions, unless otherwise determined will be filled as temporary vacancies for up to ninety (90) days. When being used to mitigate layoff or to replace maternity leave or long-term disability, the Union and the Company will discuss the appropriate length of term. 10.07.04 Union dues during this time must be paid directly to Unifor on a monthly basis.
