Legal Coverage. Whenever any claims are made or any civil action is commenced against the employee for damages caused by acts of the employee within the scope of the employee's authority and while in the course of employment, the City will pay for, or engage or furnish the services of, an attorney to advise the officer as to the claim and to appear for and represent the employee in the action.

The City's obligations under this section shall be contingent upon the employee giving prompt notice of the commencement of any action, and upon the employee cooperating in the preparation, defense and settlement of such action.

  • Dual Coverage No City employee or eligible dependent may be insured under more than one City medical, dental, or vision insurance plan. The Executive shall be notified in writing of the Executive’s rights to continue such coverage after the termination of the Executive’s employment pursuant to this Section 3(d)(iv), provided that the Executive timely complies with the conditions to continue such coverage. The Executive understands and acknowledges that the Executive is responsible to make all payments required for any such continued health care coverage that the Executive may choose to receive.
