Common use of Letters of Instruction Clause in Contracts

Letters of Instruction. Letters of Instruction are used as a tool designed to serve as a way for the Department or Division to provide an employee with information and instruction or training to correct behavior or performance deficits. Letters of Instruction are non-punitive; however, they may be used to establish documentation that an employee has been made aware of their responsibility with regard to a particular set of circumstances. Letters of Instruction may be issued by the supervisor(s) or lead worker(s) responsible for the employee's activities. A copy of any Letter of Instruction will be provided to the employee and will be filed in the Supervisor File.
