Common use of Lock Change Clause in Contracts

Due to the inherent risk of owning a rental property and the possibility of lawsuits, Owner authorizes Agent to change the locks for every new lease initiated on the property at the owners expense. This cost is miniscule in the long run and provides safety and peace of mind for our residents, while limiting the liability for our owners and our management team. Anyone can make a key and we want the assurance that we are not the focus of a lawsuit due to burglary, break-ins or worse.
