Loss of Checked-in Baggage. If the entire Checked-In Baggage is lost whilst in the custody of the Common Carrier, the Company will indemnify to the extent of cost incurred by the Insured Person towards replacement of the entire baggage and its contents as per market value, up to 1% of the Sum Insured specified in the Policy Certificate or Rs. 20,000 (whichever is lesser), subject to the conditions specified below: (i) Coverage under this Benefit shall commence only after the Checked-In Baggage is entrusted to the Common Carrier and a receipt obtained and coverage under this Benefit shall terminate automatically on the Common Carrier reaching the Place of Destination specified in the ticket of the Insured Person during the Policy Period; (ii) If more than one (1) piece of Checked-in Baggage has been checked-in under the same ticket of the Insured Person and all the pieces of Checked-in Baggage are not lost, then the Company’s liability shall be restricted to 0.5% of the Sum Insured specified in the Policy Certificate or Rs. 10,000 (whichever is lesser); (iii) If the lost/undelivered Checked-In Baggage is subsequently traced and offered for delivery to the Insured Person, the Insured Person shall refund the amount paid by the Company under this Benefit in full irrespective of whether delivery of the baggage is taken or not; (iv) If a portion of the lost/undelivered Checked-In Baggage is subsequently traced and offered for delivery to the Insured Person, the Insured Person shall refund the amount paid by the Company under this Benefit attributable to the portion of Checked-in Baggage traced in full irrespective of whether delivery of the baggage is taken; (v) The liability of the Company shall be determined based on the market value of the Contents of the Checked-In Baggage as on the scheduled/expected date of delivery at the destination port; (vi) In case the market value of any single item of the Contents (excluding Valuables) of a Checked-In Baggage exceeds Rs.5,000/-, the Company's liability shall be limited to Rs.5,000/- only; (vii) Additional Documents to be submitted for any Claim under this Benefit: a) Property irregularity report issued by the appropriate authority. b) Voucher of the Common Carrier for the compensation paid for the non-delivery / short delivery of the Checked-In Baggage. c) Copies of correspondence exchanged, if any, with the Common Carrier in connection with the non-delivery / short delivery of the Checked-In Baggage. Loss of Checked-in Baggage. We will indemnify the Insured for the value of the Checked-In Baggage totally lost whilst in custody of the Common Carrier during the Period of Insurance in relation to Trip covered hereunder. The coverage shall commence from the time the Checked-In Baggage is entrusted to the Common Carrier and a receipt obtained, and shall terminate on delivery by the Common Carrier against surrender of the receipt at the destination port, provided that the cover shall in no case exist beyond the point of delivery by the Common Carrier at the arrival terminal/ exit gate. The cover shall be applicable individually and independently in case of Trip involving multi destinations en-route. The liability of the Company in so far as it relates to a single Checked-In Baggage being part of more than one Checked-In Baggage attached to the ticket of the Insured, shall be restricted to 50% of the Sum Insured specified in the Policy Schedule. The compensation will not exceed the Sum Insured for the coverage as mentioned in Policy Schedule hereto. In case of Individual Policy, this payout will be available on individual basis and in case of Floater Policy the payout will be available on floater basis. We will not be liable for any loss in connection with the following: 1. Any Deductible amount, if applicable and as mentioned against this Benefit in the Policy Schedule.
Loss of Checked-in Baggage. We will reimburse the actual loss upto the limit specified in the Certificate of Insurance incurred towards the permanent and total loss or destruction of the Insured Person’s Checked-in Baggage, by the Common Carrier on which the Insured Person was travelling as a passenger, during the Travel Period. This In-built Benefit will be payable provided that: a. The Insured Person provides Us with written proof from the Common Carrier confirming the loss of Checked-in Baggage; b. The Insured Person provides Us with a written proof of ownership for any item within the Checked- in Baggage valued at more than the amount specified in the Certificate of Insurance. We shall not be liable to reimburse any expenses under this In-built Benefit for: a. Any loss or destruction which will be paid or refunded by the Common Carrier; b. Any loss of Valuables, Money, any kinds of securities or tickets; c. Any loss of Checked-in Baggage amounting to a partial loss or not amounting to a permanent and total loss, unless specified otherwise in the Certificate of Insurance; d. Any actual or alleged loss or destruction arising from detention, confiscation or distribution by customs, police or other public authorities.
Loss of Checked-in Baggage. We will pay the actual loss or a fixed amount, as specified in the Policy Schedule/Certificate of Insurance incurred towards the permanent and total loss or destruction of the Insured Person’s Checked-in Baggage, by the Common Carrier on which the Insured Person was travelling as a passenger, during the Travel Period. This Benefit will be payable provided that the Insured Person provides Us with written proof from the Common Carrier confirming the loss of Checked-in Baggage. We shall not be liable to pay any expenses under this Benefit for: a. Any loss or destruction which will be paid or refunded by the Common Carrier; b. Any loss of Valuables, Money, any kinds of securities or tickets; c. Any loss of Checked-in Baggage amounting to a partial loss or not amounting to a permanent and total loss, unless specified otherwise in the Certificate of Insurance; d. Any actual or alleged loss or destruction arising from detention, confiscation or distribution by customs, police or other public authorities.
Loss of Checked-in Baggage. In the event of loss of property whilst in the custody of the airline, a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) must be obtained from the airline immediately upon discovering the loss, which must be submitted to the insurer in the event of a claim.
Loss of Checked-in Baggage. The Company shall pay a lump-sum, as stated in the Schedule, in case of loss of his Checked-in Baggage, whilst in the custody of the Airline during the journey period. The coverage shall commence from the time the Checked-in Baggage is entrusted to the Airline and a receipt obtained, and shall cease on delivery of the Checked-in Baggage to the Insured Person. If subsequent to the claim payment, the Checked-in Baggage is delivered to the Insured Person, liability of the Company shall be limited to that under section-5 in respect of delay of checked-in-baggage.
