Common use of Loss of Tools Clause in Contracts

Loss of Tools. The employer will replace an employee’s personal tools with tools of equal value in cases where it can be verified that the tools were lost in fire or stolen from an on the site locked company tool crib, job box or locked company vehicle. Each employee, upon dispatch, shall provide an inventory of his tools to both the union and the employer in either written form or by photograph in order to be eligible for the employer to replace the said lost tools.
