Common use of Manholes Clause in Contracts

Manholes. 1. Precast reinforced manholes shall be manufactured in accordance with ASTM C478 and shall have a minimum wall thickness of 5 inches (127 mm). All concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 psi when tested in accordance with ASTM C478. 2. Joints between precast sections shall be sealed by means of rubber O-ring gaskets or flexible butyl rubber sealant. 3. Non-shrinking grout or a flexible seal shall be used to seal the pipe penetrations and prevent water from entering the manhole.
