Material Tests Sample Clauses

The 'Material Tests' clause defines the requirements and procedures for testing materials used in a project to ensure they meet specified standards and quality criteria. Typically, this clause outlines the types of tests to be performed, the frequency of testing, and the responsibilities of both parties regarding sampling and reporting results. For example, it may require that steel or concrete be tested for strength and composition before use in construction. The core function of this clause is to ensure that only materials meeting agreed-upon specifications are incorporated into the work, thereby reducing the risk of defects and ensuring the safety and durability of the finished project.
Material Tests. The contractor shall provide test prices as required by the engineer to enable him to determine the quality of the material supplied free of charge and any cost of the tests shall be borne by the contractor. If any test pieces fails to comply with the requirements of the appropriate specifications for the material in question, the engineer may reject the whole of the material represented by that piece, the contractor’s designers and metallurgists will be consulted before any material is so rejected. In the event of the engineer being furnished with the certified particulars of the tests which have been carried out for the contractor by the suppliers of the material, he may, at his own discretion, dispense with the previously mentioned tests entirely.
Material Tests. Material tests shall conform to the requirements of Clause S4.01 (1) (a).
Material Tests. 16.2.1 The Contractor shall provide, at his own cost, test pieces as required by the Owner to enable him to determine the quality of material supplied under this Contract. If any test piece fails to comply with the requirements, the Owner may reject the whole material represented by the test piece. 16.2.2 Plates, sheets and bar stock materials meant for components of vessels shall be subjected to ultrasonic testing in accordance with codes specified or approved equal. 16.2.3 All high pressure pumps, valves and other high pressure casting shall be subjected to radiographic testing in accordance with codes specified or approved equal 16.2.4 All forgings shall be subjected to ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing in accordance with codes specified or approved equal 16.2.5 All ferrous and non-ferrous pipes and tubes of 65mm size and under shall be subject to eddy current testing in accordance with codes specified or approved equal 16.2.6 All U-bent tubes made of copper alloy shall be stress relieved. 16.2.7 All materials used in manufacturing of Materials covered by the Contract shall also be subjected to one or more of the following non-destructive tests (NDT) – visual, dye penetration, magnetic particles, ultrasonic or radiographic. Salvaging of material due to unacceptable defect is to be attempted by the Contractor only after getting specific concurrence from the Owner and according to the approved procedures. 16.2.8 Unless otherwise specified, NDT tests shall be witnessed by the Owner.
Material Tests. 1.26.1 In the event of The Employer or his representative being supplied with the particulars of tests which have been carried out for The Contractor by the suppliers of material, he may, at his own discretion, accept the same as proper evidence of compliance with the requirements of appropriate specifications for the materials. 1.26.2 In case the correlating test certificates are not available, The Contractor, at no extra cost to The Employer will get all the tests done to establish conformity of the material to its relevant code or specification.
Material Tests. The Contractor shall submit manufacturer's quality certificates for all the materials supplied by him. However, the Contractor shall get all appropriate tests conducted in approved test houses for such materials, at no extra cost, and submit the same for approval.
Material Tests. (i) Material tests on all important stressed components as defined in Clause S1.17(2). (ii) Radiographic examination or ultrasonic examination of all major castings and forgings. The areas proposed for such examination shall be nominated by the Contractor when drawings of the components concerned in accordance with Clause 4.06 of Volume 1 and shall be subject to the approval of the DEDE Engineer. The decision as to whether further examination is required shall be determined on the incidence of defective materials disclosed by the initial examination. The acceptability of the material shall be judged in accordance with American Society for Testing Materials, cracks and hot tears being ‘unacceptable’, severity level 2 for all other forms of defect being ‘borderline’, as defined in those Standards. Any areas found by these examinations to contain unacceptable defects shall be subject to re- examination after repair. (iii) Radiographic, ultrasonic examination and crack detection of welded components in accordance with Clause S1.17 (iv) Crack detection of all castings and forgings.
Material Tests. Include with the list of material sources three copies of gradation analysis and a moisture density relation analysis for granular backfill materials.
Material Tests. 16.2.1 The Contractor shall provide, at his own cost, test pieces as required by the Owner to enable him to determine the quality of material supplied under this Contract. If any test piece fails to comply with the requirements, the Owner may reject the whole material represented by the test piece.
