Materials Generally. A. Unless otherwise specifically provided in the Contract Documents, the Contractor shall provide and pay for materials, equipment, tools, construction equipment and machinery, water, heat, utilities, transportation, and other facilities and services necessary for proper execution and completion of the Work, whether temporary or permanent and whether or not incorporated or to be incorporated in the Work. B. Materials and equipment to be installed as part of the Work (both or either of which are hereinafter referred to as "materials") shall be new, unused, of recent manufacture, assembled, and used in accordance with the best construction practices. The Contractor shall inform himself as to, and shall comply with, the provisions of M.G.L. c. ▇, ▇. 23A, as amended, and shall abide by the same and all applicable rules, regulations and orders made thereunder in relation to the purchase of supplies and materials in the execution of the Work, including the provisions of M.G.L. c.▇, ▇. 22, paragraph 17 which provides that there be "a preference in the purchase of supplies and materials, other considerations being equal, in favor, first, of supplies and materials manufactured and sold within the Commonwealth, and, second, of supplies and materials manufactured and sold elsewhere within the United States."
