Maximum Tenancy Sample Clauses

The Maximum Tenancy clause sets a definitive upper limit on the duration for which a lease or rental agreement can remain in effect. Typically, this clause specifies the longest period a tenant may occupy the premises under the current agreement, regardless of any renewals or extensions. For example, it may state that the tenancy cannot exceed five years in total, even if the parties agree to renew the lease annually. The core function of this clause is to provide certainty and legal boundaries for both landlords and tenants, preventing indefinite occupation and ensuring compliance with statutory or policy limits on tenancy length.
