Common use of MDOC/MPRI Consumers Clause in Contracts

MDOC/MPRI Consumers. MSHN will not subsidize the cost of treatment for consumers who are placed in treatment programs under contract with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) or Michigan Prisoner Re-entry Initiative (MPRI). In no case will MSHN funds constitute duplication of payment for any consumer receiving funds under the MDOC/MPRI contracts. This includes State Disability Assistance. When consumers who are on parole or probation seek treatment on a voluntary basis, these self- referrals must be handled like any other self-referral to the MSHN-funded network. PROVIDER may seek to obtain consent Agreement releases to communicate with a consumer’s probation or parole agent but in no instance may this be demanded as a condition for admission or continued stay.
