Common use of MEDICATION POLICY Clause in Contracts

MEDICATION POLICY. CONTRACTOR shall have a written policy and procedure for the 14 handling of all medications, including over the counter items. The policies and procedures shall include 15 at a minimum, logging, tracking, storing, disposing, and the distribution of all medications. 16 a. CONTRACTOR shall collect from all Participants, any and all prescription and over- 18 1) CONTRACTOR shall document in a medication log book, all medications, and 19 include, at a minimum, the name of the Participant, medication name, dosage, and quantity. 20 2) CONTRACTOR shall ensure that no medication is transferred between bottles. 21 3) CONTRACTOR shall ensure that no Participants have prescription medications or 22 over-the-counter medications in their possession and/or living area. 23 b. Following forty-eight (48) hours of Participant leaving the program, CONTRACTOR 24 shall destroy all medication Participant did not take with him/her. Destruction of said medication is to 25 be documented by CONTRACTOR in the medication log book and include, at a minimum, the name of 26 the Participant, medication name, dosage, quantity, and date of destruction. 27 c. CONTRACTOR’s staff must be trained on and familiarized with policies and 28 procedures regarding the handling of all medications.
