Common use of Minimum Wage Adjustment Clause in Contracts

Minimum Wage Adjustment. In the event that the Federal or Provincial minimum wage increases during the life of this Agreement, adjustments will be made to the grid according to the procedure specified below: In the event that the Federal or Provincial minimum wage increases during this period by a monetary amount that is greater than the monetary increase(s) applied to each of the hourly rates of pay during this period, those rates of pay will be increased by the difference, in cents, between the increases applied during this period and the increase to the minimum wage. Such an increase shall take effect on the date of the increase to the minimum wage. For example, if the start rate of pay band 1 gets a $0.10/hour increase on 1 July 2023, and the minimum wage increases by $0.25/hour on 1 October 2023, on 1 October 2023 the start rate of pay band 1 will be increased by $0.15/hour.
