Common use of Minor Changes Clause in Contracts

Minor Changes. The Architect shall have authority to order minor changes in the Work not involving an adjustment in the GMP or Contract amount or an extension of the Contract Time Schedule and not inconsistent with the intent of the Contract Documents. Such changes may be effected by field order or by other written order. Such changes shall be binding on the Owner and the Contractor. In any emergency affecting the safety of persons or property, the Contractor shall act, at his discretion, to prevent threatened damage, injury or loss. Any additional compensation or extension of time claimed by the Contractor on account of emergency work shall be determined as provided in this Article.
