Common use of MODES OF EMPLOYMENT Clause in Contracts

MODES OF EMPLOYMENT. The purpose of this clause is, amongst other things, to provide definition to the various types of employment used at the University, to ensure that employees are aware of the type of employment under which they are engaged, and to provide severance payments to some classes of fixed-term employees. This Agreement does not prevent an employee engaging in additional work as a casual employee in work unrelated to, or identifiably separate from, the employee’s normal duties. Nothing in this Agreement shall limit the number or proportion of employees that the University may employ in a particular type of employment.
