Monitoring Period. Attendance shall be monitored during a base period which shall consist of a floating calendar year. For purposes of this policy, it shall commence with the date of the sick leave review and consist of the preceding 364 days. Absences occurring prior to the base period will not normally be counted, although they may be given weight where an employee’s long term attendance pattern is being reviewed.
