Common use of Motor Car Allowance Clause in Contracts

Motor Car Allowance. Where an employee is directed to use his/her motor car on, or in connection with the business of Council, he/she shall be paid an allowance calculated at one of the rates set out in the schedule below: Type of Vehicle Rate of Allowance An engine of 4 cylinders or less 81 cents per km An engine of more than 4 cylinders or a rotary engine Where an employee is directed to use his/her motorcycle on or in connection with the business of the Council, he/she shall be paid an allowance calculated at the rate of 32 cents per kilometre. These rates are to be adjusted (to the nearest whole cent) as at 1 July of each year during the life of this Agreement in accordance with the CPI.
