Common use of Multilingual/TDD Service Clause in Contracts

Multilingual/TDD Service. Contractor’s service and emergency telephone numbers must 1532 be accessible by a local (City) phone number or toll-free number. Contractor shall also maintain service and 1533 emergency telephone numbers accessible by teletypewriter (TTY) devices, including cellphone and 1534 smartphone. The service telephone number(s) shall be listed in the telephone directories covering City’s 1535 boundaries and must be under Contractor’s name in the commercial and residential listings. Contractor’s 1536 service and emergency numbers, including TTY numbers, shall be available through an online search and 1537 listed on the Contractor’s website. Contractor must at all times maintain the capability of responding to 1538 telephone calls in English and such other languages as City may direct. Contractor must at all times maintain 1539 the capability of responding to telephone calls through Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) 1540 Services.
