National Credit Code Sample Clauses
The National Credit Code clause establishes that the agreement is subject to the requirements and protections set out in the National Credit Code, a legislative framework regulating consumer credit in Australia. This means that the terms of the contract, such as interest rates, disclosure obligations, and consumer rights, must comply with the standards mandated by the Code. For example, it may require the lender to provide clear information about fees or allow the borrower certain rights to cancel. The core function of this clause is to ensure that the agreement is legally compliant and that both parties are aware of their rights and obligations under Australian credit law, thereby protecting consumers and promoting fair lending practices.
