Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability. CITY while providing the Community Bus Services shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to nondiscrimination on the basis of disability, including, but not limited to the following: Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (Section 504), 29 U.S.C. (Section 794), prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability by recipients of Federal financial assistance. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended (ADA), 42 U.S.C. Sections 12101 et seq., prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities in all programs, activities, and services of public entities, as well as imposes specific requirements on public and private providers of transportation. DOT Public Transportation Regulations implementing Section 504 and the ADA. These regulations include DOT regulations, "Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Handicap in Programs and Activities Receiving or Benefiting from Federal Financial Assistance," 49 C.F.R. Part 27, DOT regulations, "Transportation Services for Individuals with Disabilities (ADA)," 49 C.F.R. Part 37, and Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board (ATBCB)/DOT regulations, "Americans With Disabilities (ADA) Accessibility Specifications for Transportation Vehicles," 36 C.F.R. Part 1192 and 49 C.F.R. Part 38, all as currently enacted or as may be amended from time to time.
