Notification of Absence due to Sickness. Employees absent from work due to illness must notify their immediate supervisor at least one hour prior to their normal reporting time in order to be eligible for paid sick leave, unless the employee can show in writing why prior notification was impossible.

The Company reserves the right to require proof of illness by medical certificate or such other form of proof as the Company may require before sick leave is granted. (b) The Company shall pay the full cost of any medical certificates required of an employee.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • ABSENCE FROM DUTY Unless a provision of this agreement states otherwise (e.g. sick leave), an employee not attending for duty will lose their pay for the actual time of such non- attendance.
