Common use of Observation Conferences Clause in Contracts

Observation Conferences. The first formal, holistic, observation shall be preceded by a pre-observation conference between the evaluator and the teacher within ten (10) working days of the scheduled observation. At the pre-observation conference, teachers shall provide evidence for the classroom situation to be observed. The pre-observation conference may be waived at the discretion of the teacher. The post-conference, which should follow within ten (10) working days of the first formal observation, will provide the teacher and his/her evaluator an opportunity to discuss the observations notes and collaboratively decide on one (1) focus area, which will become the focus of the second formal observation; the teacher, in consultation with his/her evaluator, may revise or amend the teacher’s PGP at this time, or at any time deemed appropriate in during this evaluation cycle. The post-conference following the second formal, or any subsequent, observation(s) will provide the teacher and his/her evaluator an opportunity to discuss the observations notes and determine progress and/or growth in the identified focus area.
