Operator - Responsibilities in General; Covenants; Term. (a) Operator — Responsibilities in General. Atlas shall be the Operator of the ▇▇▇▇▇ and Well Locations subject to this Agreement and, as the Developer’s independent contractor, shall, in addition to its other obligations under this Agreement do the following: (i) arrange for drilling and completing (or plugging) the ▇▇▇▇▇ and, if a gas well, installing the necessary gas gathering line systems and connection facilities; (ii) make the technical decisions required in drilling, testing, completing (or plugging), and operating the ▇▇▇▇▇; (iii) manage and conduct all field operations in connection with the drilling, testing, completing (or plugging), equipping, operating, and producing the ▇▇▇▇▇; (iv) maintain all ▇▇▇▇▇, equipment, gathering lines if a gas well, and facilities in good working order during their useful lives; (v) perform the necessary administrative and accounting functions; and (vi) design water disposal plans, if needed, for the ▇▇▇▇▇. In performing the work contemplated by this Agreement, Operator is an independent contractor with authority to control and direct the performance of the details of the work.
