Common use of Option A Clause in Contracts

Option A. 65.4.3.1 Upon rehire into the program, the participating employee will hold the rank of Police Officer and will be eligible for assignment only to patrol, SCT, or NRT. 65.4.3.2 The participating employee will be rehired at top step Police Officer wages. However, if the employee was not receiving top step Police Officer pay upon retirement, the employee will be rehired at the same Police Officer pay rate the employee was receiving upon retirement, and will thereafter be eligible for step increases based on the employee’s anniversary date as defined in Article 65.4.2.18. 65.4.3.3 The participating employee will receive step increases and cost of living wage adjustments consistent with the other provisions of this Agreement. 65.4.3.4 The duration of the employee’s participation in the program will be not less than six (6) years, with the Chief of Police retaining the option to extend the employee’s participation in the program for no more than an additional two (2) years.
