Common use of Order of Allocation and Notification Clause in Contracts

Order of Allocation and Notification. (a) The Closed Port Days (Good Friday, Anzac Day, Labour Day and Picnic Day) will comprise the following ‘closed port’ shifts: (i) Day shift, Evening shift and Night shift (which commences on the actual day but is worked into (and concludes on) the following day). (ii) All Closed Port Day rules, rights and entitlements (including compulsion and shift penalties) will apply to these shifts (and these shifts only) for the prescribed days. (iii) This means that the night shift commencing the day prior to the Closed Port Day is NOT a closed port shift and will be worked as a normal shift on the days prescribed above. (iv) All other days of the year shall continue to apply as Night shift (commencing day prior), Day shift and Evening shift. (b) The Company will complete allocation for Closed Port Days shifts as prescribed in 1.22.4(a) in accordance with the following table: Allocate on this day by 13.45 When Closed Port Day falls on this day (c) Employees shall be responsible for ascertaining when they are required to work.
