Common use of Order of Lay-off Clause in Contracts

Order of Lay-off. In case it becomes necessary to reduce the workforce for a period of three (3) days or more, the lay-off procedure will be as follows: (i) Probationary employees shall be laid off first provided that regular employees remaining can satisfactorily perform the required work. (ii) Next, regular employees will be laid off in order of seniority provided that employees who are remaining can satisfactorily perform the required work.
