Orientation Objectives. The objectives of orientation shall be: a) to familiarize new personnel with the objectives and philosophy of the Medical Center. b) to orient new personnel to policies and procedures, their functions and responsibilities as defined in job descriptions. c) to orient presently employed personnel to new policies and new procedures or to new areas of assignment which directly affect the employee's assignment and responsibility,
Orientation Objectives. The objectives of orientation shall be: (a) To familiarize new personnel with the objectives and philosophy of the Medical Center (b) To orient new personnel to policies and procedures, their functions and responsibilities as defined in the job description. (c) To orient presently employed personnel to new policies and new procedures or to new areas of assignment which directly affect the employee’s assignment and responsibility. 12.6.1 Orientation will consist of a basic comprehensive program in which the employee will be oriented through a combination of instructional conferences, work area and/or shift work. The employee shall be provided with orientation and training sufficient to allow effective implementation of the assignments so that the employee may perform the tasks or procedures safely and independently. If the employee believes that these conditions are not met, the employee shall be allow to show cause why he or she should not accept an assignment. The employee is responsible to inform the supervisor (or preceptor, if assigned) of any task or procedure for which the employee feels inadequately prepared. The Supervisor (and preceptor, if assigned) will then review the patient assignment and make accommodations/adjustments to the assignment before work commences. If the employee and supervisor (and preceptor, if assigned) cannot reach agreement on the assignment, the manager or supervisor will be called to intervene in a timely manner, preferably prior to work commencing. The employee and the supervisor (and preceptor, if assigned) will be expected to collaboratively provide the care needed until resolution can be achieved so that safe patient care will not compromised.
Orientation Objectives. As a general practice, new nurses shall be assigned under close supervision of a more experienced nurse until the basic checklist for that area has been completed. For the purposes of this Section, an "area" shall be defined as one of the following clinical areas of the Hospital: Cardiac Rehab, ED, Surgery, PACU, Med/Surg, and Chemotherapy. The Hospital agrees to call a meeting of the Professional Practices/Conference Committee to discuss any intended additions or modifications to the clinical areas as defined prior to making any such change.

  • Safety Objectives 55.1 The Parties recognise the potentially hazardous nature of the construction industry. To this end, the Parties to the Agreement are committed to continuous improvement in occupational health and safety standards through the implementation of an organisational framework which involves all Parties in protecting Employees’ health and safety. 55.2 In meeting these objectives, the Parties have agreed to consider a broad agenda through the consultative processes established by this Agreement.   • Agreement Objectives (a) The fundamental objective that the Parties have in creating the Agreement is to produce an agreed industrial relations framework that encourages achievement of the following goals on the Project. (b) The Employer is accountable to: (1) Provide the management resource and support needed to achieve an injury and incident free Project; (2) Encourage its leaders to focus on issues raised by any member of their team; (3) Ensure its leaders act to address appropriately and in a timely manner, any concern raised by any member of their team; (4) Act at all times with fairness, honesty and in a trustworthy manner, responding to issues or concerns raised in a timely manner; (5) Recognise the talents and capabilities of their Employees and encourage excellence in construction execution. (c) Each Employee is accountable to: (1) Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work area, ensure safe and healthy work practices are followed at all times and within their duty of care, take responsibility for their personal safety and the safety of other Employees; (2) Comply with Project environmental health and safety regulations, procedures and practices; (3) Participate in and comply with the Project’s cultural and environmental processes; (4) Ensure their personal fitness for work on each day they are scheduled to work; (5) In all of their dealings with other Employees and their Employer, act with fairness and respect; (6) Work towards both the Project and their team’s goals to the full extent of their personal capacity; and (7) Raise any personal concern/issue directly with their immediate team leader/supervisor thereby providing the Employer with an opportunity to resolve/assist the concern/issue. If the team leader/supervisor is not available, then raise the matter with a more senior Employer leader.
