ORIGIN AND DESTINATION STUDY. The Engineer shall conduct origin and destination studies for designated locations to obtain information on existing travel practices for improving traffic operations. At a minimum, the Engineer shall include in the study the results of the following activities. Engineer shall: • Document commuter types • Document where motorists begin and end their trips. • Document the type of vehicle used to travel (e.g., automobile, public transit, carpool, vanpool, truck). • Document when motorists travel. • Document why motorist travel (e.g., work, shop, eat). • Document where motorists park their vehicles. • Prepare site map of the study area.
