Common use of OSSTF Certification Rating Statement Clause in Contracts

OSSTF Certification Rating Statement. (a) The placement of a teacher on the salary grid shall be in accordance with the Certification Rating Statement (or Letter of Evaluation where the teacher is employed on a Letter of Standing) issued by the OSSTF on the basis of the Certification Policy in effect on September 1. (b) Any teacher qualifying for a change in category shall receive the corresponding salary increase retroactive to the start of the school year. The teacher will be eligible for a retroactive salary adjustment with notification of a pending Certification Rating change if the notification is provided to the Board by May 31st of that school year. The teacher will submit to the Director or designate acceptable proof of the certification rating change as soon as possible. In any case, where a teacher, through no personal fault, cannot provide the Director or designate with acceptable proof of OSSTF Certification Rating change before the times required above, the retroactive adjustment shall be protected if the teacher provides documentation to the Director or designate of the teacher’s new qualifications and the attempts to establish the new Salary Group. Such salary adjustment shall be withheld until acceptable proof of the Certification Rating change is furnished to the Director or designate by the teacher. Notwithstanding this, in no case shall this retroactive adjustment be protected beyond 12 months of the date of completion of the requirements for Certification Rating change.
