Other Leave of Absence. 18.01 Other leaves of absence, with or without pay, may in SCC’s absolute discretion be granted in special circumstances upon written request to and approval by the Department Head and the General Manager of the SCC or his or her designate.
Other Leave of Absence. 28.01 (a) Leave without pay shall be granted to the employee insofar as the regular operation of the facility will permit. All requests for such leave of absence must be submitted in writing at least ten (10) days in advance. All requests shall include commencement date and length of the leave. All requests will be considered on an individual basis. Such leave shall not be unreasonably denied.

a) To qualify, a teacher must have at least three (3) years service with this Board.
b) An application for such leave must be presented to this Board no later than March 30th of the year in which the leave is to commence.
c) The initial application shall state the duration of the leave requested.
d) Upon request of a teacher on leave, an extension of that leave may be made by the Board provided the total leave does not extend beyond the second school year after the original leave began.
e) To assist with staffing and redundancy decisions the teacher is requested to notify the Board in writing before March 30th of the year in which the return to work is scheduled that the teacher does not intend to return to his or her position.
f) A teacher who resumes employment after a leave-of-absence under this Article retains the sick leave credits he or she had at the beginning of the leave.
g) A teacher on leave may maintain membership in benefit plans, e.g. medical, life insurance, etc., provided he or she remits in advance the total cost of the premiums involved in his or her participation and provided that the insurance carrier agrees to maintain coverage.
h) A teacher returning from a leave-of-absence will be guaranteed a comparable teaching position, but any position of responsibility held prior to the leave cannot be guaranteed on his or her return to work.
Other Leave of Absence. The District shall grant a unit member such additional leaves of absence in the manner and as required by state or federal law, or as agreed to by the District and the unit member.
Other Leave of Absence. 18.01 Other leaves of absence, with or without pay, may in the Employer’s absolute discretion be granted in special circumstances upon written request to and approval by the Department Head and the General Manager of the Employer or designate. All leaves will have a start and finish date and the employee will be expected to return to work on the first scheduled shift after the finish date. Should the employee not return on the first scheduled shift after the finish date, the employee is deemed to have resigned from their employment with the Employer.

An employee desiring a leave must submit a written request to the Superintendent prior to April 1 of the school year prior to the year for which the leave request is desired. The request shall specify the reason for which leave is requested. The requested leave is subject to approval by the Board of Directors. Employees returning from unpaid leave shall be placed in the position last held or a position for which they are qualified so long as the Layoff and Recall Procedure in Article IV, Section 6 is not activated. In instances that the Layoff and Recall Procedures are activated, employees returning from unpaid leave shall be placed on the seniority list with the seniority accrued at the time they discontinued active service to the District credited to them and Article IV, Section 6 shall apply. Employees returning from unpaid leave shall notify the District in writing by April 15 of their intent to return. Staff members offered a position but who refuse to accept or fail to respond within ten (10) working days in writing shall forfeit all rights under this re-employment stipulation.
Other Leave of Absence. (1) An employee is entitled to 3 hours paid leave per year, with prior consent of an employer, for the purpose of undergoing X-Rays relating to Tuberculosis detection.
(2) A female employee shall be granted 5 occasions of 4.2 hours paid leave for the duration of her pregnancy for the purpose of attending pre-natal clinics.
