Part-time to Full time conversion. Employees converting from part-time to full-time status will be entitled to receive an advance of 2 days (or 15 hours) of personal time on the following January 1st, if they have completed six months working in a full time capacity. These employees will begin accruing full-time benefits on the date they convert to full-time status. Prior to January 1st and after six months of full-time continuous service, the employee will be awarded 2 days (or 15 hours) of personal time minus any prorated part-time personal time they may have received previously in that calendar year.
Part-time to Full time conversion. Where a part-time employee who works a total of 1692 ordinary hours on rostered days over 47 weeks (including overtime when extended on a rostered shift but excluding hours worked on days off to cover periods of unscheduled absence due to workers compensation and sick leave taken), they will be entitled to be offered full-time employment. Annual or long service leave taken during this period will count towards the 1692 threshold. For the purpose of this clause:
Part-time to Full time conversion. Any employee promoted from part-time employee to full-time shall have his or her part­ time hours converted to full-time equivalent to be credited to him or her for the purpose of calculating time served for retirement. For other entitlements, such as vacation, a similar conversion will be used but only taking into consideration time worked at the Port Jervis Free Library. The hourly rate shall be increased by the difference between the starting salary of a part-time library clerk who has passed the Civil Service examination and the starting salary of a full-time library clerk. Any sick or vacation time used during that work year up to the date of conversion shall be subtracted from full-time benefits for that year. The Board shall pay 80% of the health insurance premiums on both single and family policies for such employees.
