Past Uses Clause Samples

The "Past Uses" clause defines how previously granted rights or permissions continue to apply to actions or uses that occurred before a contract is modified or terminated. In practice, this means that if a party used certain materials, information, or rights under the agreement prior to its amendment or expiration, those past actions remain authorized and are not retroactively affected. This clause ensures that parties are not penalized or exposed to liability for actions that were permissible at the time they were taken, thereby providing legal certainty and protecting against disputes over historical conduct.
