Patents and Other Intangible Assets Sample Clauses
The "Patents and Other Intangible Assets" clause defines how rights to intellectual property, such as patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other non-physical assets, are handled between the parties. It typically outlines ownership, usage rights, and responsibilities regarding the creation, use, or transfer of these intangible assets during and after the agreement. For example, it may specify whether inventions developed during a project belong to the employer or the employee, or how licensing of existing patents is managed. This clause is essential for clarifying intellectual property rights, preventing disputes, and ensuring that both parties understand their obligations and entitlements regarding valuable intangible assets.
