PAYROLL DEDUCTIONS AND DUES. Section 1- Agency Shop For the term of this Agreement, all current and future interpreter employees shall, as a condition of continued employment, become and remain members of the Union or, in lieu thereof, shall pay a service fee to the Union in an amount not to exceed the standard initiation fee, periodic dues and general assessments of the Union for bargaining unit employees. The membership and service fee payments shall be established by the Union only for the purposes of collective bargaining, contract administration and pursuing matters affecting wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment. Failure of an employee to pay membership or service fees shall be grounds for termination. The Union, at its option, may elect to waive its right to demand termination and instead utilize the judicial process to compel payment.
