PERCENTAGE REINSURED Clause Samples

The Percentage Reinsured clause defines the proportion of risk or liability that the reinsurer agrees to assume from the original insurer under a reinsurance agreement. In practice, this clause specifies a fixed percentage—such as 50% or 80%—of each policy or portfolio covered, meaning the reinsurer will pay that share of claims and receive the same share of premiums. This arrangement allows both parties to clearly allocate risk and financial responsibility, ensuring transparency and predictability in the sharing of losses and profits.
