Period Substitution. An hourly unit member who teaches in the Independent Study Program shall receive an annual accounting comparing the hours s/he serves period substitution to instances when students do not attend. If the number of period substitution exceeds the number of student absences, the Independent Study teacher shall receive period substitution for the periods that exceed the difference. Compensation shall be a unit member’s hourly rate of pay.
