Common use of Permissible Usage of Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Permissible Usage of Sick Leave. Sick leave is provided to continue the salary of an eligible employee who is absent from work because of an illness. With the prior approval of an employee's Department Head, an employee may use accumulated sick leave for medical or dental appointments. With prior approval of the employee's Department Head, an employee may use accumulated sick leave for the purpose(s) and duration specified in City policies interpreting applicable federal and/or State laws (i.e. Family Medical Leave Act [FMLA]) and California Family Rights Act [CFRA]).
