Common use of Preceptors Clause in Contracts

Preceptors. Effective with the first full pay period beginning after 27 ratification of this Agreement, a nurse assigned as a preceptor will be paid a 28 differential of $2.00 worked as a preceptor. A preceptor is a nurse who is 29 designated by his/her nurse manager to assess the learning needs of a nurse or 30 capstone student nurse; plan the nurse's/capstone student nurse’s learning 31 program; implement the program; provide direct guidance and supervision to the 1 nurse during the program; and, in conjunction with the nurse manager and/or 2 designee, evaluate the nurse's progress during the program. This differential will 3 not be paid for any unworked hours or for any hours when the nurse is not 4 working as a preceptor.
