Common use of Preliminary Engineering Clause in Contracts

Preliminary Engineering. As part of the Owners Services, the Owner shall provide to the Engineer any available relevant data the Owner may have on file concerning the Project for the Engineer to review. The Engineer will advise Owner in writing of any errors and omissions and corrections needed as a basis for the final design of the Project. The Engineer will prepare a preliminary engineering report (the “Preliminary Engineering Report”) in accordance with the requirements set forth herein and in sufficient detail (i) to indicate clearly the problems involved and the alternate solutions available to the Owner, (ii) to include preliminary layouts, sketches, and cost estimates, and (iii) to set forth clearly the Engineer’s recommendations for the final design of the Project. The Engineer’s recommendations for the final design of the Project shall meet all federal, state and county permitting requirements. The Engineer shall manage and coordinate the activities of the Project Team in the collection of geographical information and engineering data, the selection of computer software, and the distribution of Project information and status to the Owner and Project Team throughout the development of the Preliminary Engineering Report. Specific tasks to be provided by the Engineer will include those of the following identified in the Work Authorization:
