Preliminary Geometric Project Layout. The Engineer shall develop a preliminary geometric project layout (Layout) for the full length of the project to be reviewed and approved by the State prior to the Engineer proceeding with the 30% milestone submittal package. The Layout shall consist of a planimetric file of existing features and the proposed improvements within the existing and any proposed ROW. The Engineer shall provide horizontal and vertical alignment of the project layout in English units for main lanes and cross streets. Minor alignment alternatives will be considered to provide for an optimal design. The project layout must be coordinated with the State and adjacent Engineers, if any.
