Principles of Consolidation. The consolidated financial statements have been prepared on the value method of accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for investment companies. All significant intercompany accounts and transactions have been eliminated in consolidation. Cash and Cash Equivalents. All temporary cash investments having a maturity of three months or less when purchased are considered to be cash equivalents. Portfolio Security Valuations. Investments are stated at market or fair value determined by the Board of Directors as described in the Notes to Portfolio of Investments and Note 2 below.
