Common use of Priority of Recall Clause in Contracts

Priority of Recall. A recall from lay off in the Patrol Officer and Dispatcher classifications shall be based on departmental seniority by job classification (last laid off, first recalled). Within the Sergeant classification, a recall from lay-off shall be based on the date of promotion to Sergeant. Notice of recall from a long term lay off shall be by certified or registered mail. The City shall be deemed to have fulfilled its obligations by mailing the recall notice to the last mailing address provided by the employee.
