PRIVATE APPLICATOR CERTIFICATION. Per DoD guidance, LESSEEs who apply pesticides on GOVERNMENT property shall be certified by the State of California in the categories required to perform the work specified in the LEASE. Requirements include completing an EPA-approved training program that includes written examinations in core and specific application categories. This requirement applies even if the State in which the GOVERNMENT property is located permits uncertified personnel to work under the supervision of a certified person on the non- Government property in that State. All work performed shall be in accordance with all Federal, state, local and STATION policies and regulations. Proof of certification shall be provided to the IPMC. In addition, the LESSEE must provide workers that enter pesticide-treated fields with pesticide safety training. Third-party applicators that are hired by the LESSEE to apply any pesticides must comply with the requirements for Commercial Applicator Certification. LESSEE and all employees or agents shall send a copy of their certification to the IPMC within the first 30 days of the LEASE and thereafter whenever the certification is renewed or additional employees are certified. All applicators of any pesticides shall wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by the product label directions. This may include, but is not necessarily limited to: body covering (long sleeved shirt/pants or overalls), goggles and/or face ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, aprons, gloves, hats, foot coverings (work boots) and/or respirators.
