Professional Activity Options a. Teachers at all levels must select a professional or administrative activity in accordance with this section and the provisions of Article 7 U (Professional Activity Assignment Procedures). The menu of activities to be offered to each teacher shall be from among the following: (1) Small group instruction (not to exceed 10 students) (2) One to one tutoring (3) Advise student activities such as clubs, teams or publications (4) Perform student assessment activities (including portfolios, performance tests, IEPs, ECLAS, etc.) (5) Professional development/prepare staff development workshops and demonstration lessons (6) Common planning time (7) Conflict resolution for students (8) Cafeteria Duty (9) Schoolyard Duty (10) Hallway Duty (11) AM Bus Duty (12) PM Bus Duty (13) Homeroom (14) Provide inter-disciplinary articulation (15) Develop multi-cultural curriculum (16) Develop Programs to integrate technology into the daily life of the classroom Teachers performing homeroom fulfill the requirement of the professional period. Teachers selecting AM or PM bus duty will use their professional activity period as a preparation period. Any teacher who wishes to participate in a professional activity not listed on the above menu may, upon approval of the principal, select such an activity. b. If the UFT chapter and the principal deem it necessary, then an organizational period will be permitted but limited to a few days at the beginning and end of the school term/year, as well as rare occasional meetings during the school term/year, in lieu of homeroom. c. Such compensatory time positions as ▇▇▇▇, programmer and grade advisor may be recreated. All contractual provisions dealing with compensatory time shall remain in place. d. Provided that these periods are used to supplement, not supplant the current school program, and subject to the specific provisions regarding it, secondary teachers may use this time for a sixth teaching period compensated in accordance with Article 7-0 of the Agreement (Shortage License Areas).   • Professional Activities a. The presentation of a scholarly paper or other original professional material relevant to the faculty member’s present field of employment at a conference, workshop, seminar or gallery showing, which shows evident research and is not merely extemporaneous in nature, may earn 0.5 to one (1) units depending upon scope. b. Holding a position of leadership on the association’s Executive Board or the Academic Senate or being chair or co-chair of District councils or committees for three (3) or more consecutive years may earn one (1) to three (3) units for each year.

  • Outside Professional Activities 27.01 Outside professional activities conducted with professional and academic responsibility can enhance the reputation of the University and the abilities of its academic staff and librarians. This article applies only to outside professional activities that involve the application of special skills and knowledge within the member’s particular professional expertise. While a member has a primary obligation to fulfil his/her University responsibil- ities, he/she has the right to engage in outside professional activities subject to the following conditions: 27.01.01 A member shall notify his/her ▇▇▇▇/University Librarian in writing of the type, time commitment, and location of any such proposed professional activity. If the proposed activity involves the teaching at another educational institution of a course related to the faculty member's professional expertise, the faculty member shall obtain the prior written permission of his/her ▇▇▇▇, and such permission shall not be unreasonably withheld; 27.01.02 Such activities shall not require the commitment of a block of time on a regular basis which might interfere with the faculty member's normal timetable for teaching activities or a librarian's performance of his/her normal professional responsibilities. For faculty, such activities shall not require the member to devote more than an average of one working day per five-day week on an annual basis. For librarian members, such activities shall not require the member to devote more than 20 working days per calendar year. 27.01.03 Such activities shall not hinder the fulfilment of the member's obligations to the University; 27.01.04 The name of the University and University letterhead shall not be used in such activities unless agreed to in advance by the President, although nothing shall prevent a member from stating the nature and place of his/her employment, rank, and title in connection with such professional activities, provided that he/she shall not purport to represent the University or to speak for it, or to have its approval, unless such approval has been given in advance in writing by the ▇▇▇▇/University Librarian; 27.01.05 Use of University facilities, equipment, supplies, services or other personnel shall require prior written authorization from the member's ▇▇▇▇/University Librarian or from the appropriate administrative officer. Financial arrangements for such use shall be made in advance. University activities shall have priority in the use of such facilities, equipment, supplies, services and personnel; 27.01.06 A member engaged in outside professional activities shall hold the University harmless against any loss or damage that the University may suffer from such activities; and, 27.01.07 In preparing his/her Annual Report, each member shall include a statement of his/her outside professional activities in the previous year. 27.02 If the ▇▇▇▇/University Librarian has cause for concern, he/she has the right to review a member's current or proposed outside professional activities and may require the member to provide information concerning the time devoted to current and past outside professional activities. The ▇▇▇▇/University Librarian shall inform the member in writing of the results of the review and, if necessary, of any corrective action which might be required of the member.

  • Promotional Activities ‌ 19 At the request of North Sound BH-ASO, Provider shall display promotional materials in its 20 offices and facilities as practical, in accordance with applicable law and cooperate with and 21 participate in all reasonable marketing efforts. Provider shall not use any North Sound BH- 22 ASO name in any advertising or promotional materials without the prior written permission of 23 North Sound BH-ASO.

  • Additional Activities I agree that during the period of my employment by the Company I will not, without the Company's express written consent, engage in any employment or business activity which is competitive with, or would otherwise conflict with, my employment by the Company. I agree further that for the period of my employment by the Company and for one (l) year after the date of termination of my employment by the Company I will not induce any employee of the Company to leave the employ of the Company.
