All teachers shall be given full credit on this salary schedule set for in VI-2 for full years of outside teaching experience in any school district accredited by the State of Oklahoma. Additional out of state teaching experience may be granted on a case by case basis by the Superintendent/School Board. Salary adjustments, due to increased experience or higher degree or additional credit hours shall be made once a year. B. An Employee shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years active duty in the military service, or out-of- state teaching experience as a certified teacher. Additional out of state teaching experience may be granted on a case by case basis by the Superintendent/School Board. Placement placed on the salary schedule step which gives credit for educational preparation and the number of full years of experience as allowed by this paragraph for placement on the salary schedule. All experience credited shall be added together, except as noted below.
1. Experience credit shall be awarded for K-12 teaching experience in either public or non-public schools governed by the provisions of a state teacher certification code. To be credited on the salary schedule for experience, the teacher shall have been a certified teacher during the time of their teaching employment. Experience credit shall not be awarded for practice (student) teaching, day-to- day substitute teaching, private nursery school (day care) teaching, intern teaching (other than in Brighton schools), or graduate assistant or fellowship teaching at colleges or universities whether or not the teacher was certified, or other similar experience. New hire experienced employees may be placed on the salary schedule step of the Board of Education's choosing; however, they shall not be placed on a step that exceeds their total experience. Less than full-time employees shall be notified that they have no rights to a full- time position. Teachers recalled from layoff who have gained additional teaching experience in accordance with the teacher’s approved years provision contained herein (B.1) shall receive salary increment steps provided they agree in writing to have their yearly salary reduced by the gross dollar amount they received in unemployment compensation while laid off.
2. To the extent allowed by law, employees hired previously shall advance to the next step on the salary schedule on the first day of experienceeach school year. To the extent allowed by law, highest degree heldemployees newly hired will advance according to the following:
a. Employees hired before November 1 shall advance to the next step, and subsequent steps, on the number first day of credits earned beyond said degree as reflected in the salary schedule. Salary adjustments, due next school year.
b. Employees hired after October 31 and before April 1 shall advance to increased experience or higher degree or additional credit hours shall be made once a year. Said adjustments will be made the next step at the beginning of each the second semester of the following school year (paid at a rate halfway between the two steps) and will be effective subsequent years (unless hired from a similar position in another educational institution and then they shall advance on the first pay period day of that the next school year).
c. Employees hired after March 31 shall remain on the same pay step for the next school year only and shall advance to the next pay step and subsequent steps on the first day of the following year unless hired from a similar position in another educational institution and then they shall advance on the first day of the next school year).
3. Official transcripts showing Shared and/or abbreviated teaching schedules (see Article 11.C) may at times be beneficial both to the Board and the individual employee. Employees placed on abbreviated schedules shall receive one full year experience step.
4. To the extent allowed by law, an employee advancing from one salary track to another will be placed on the advanced salary track as follows (retroactive if new level is completed course work prior to start of the semester and verification is submitted by the required date): Beginning of the year – Proof is submitted by November 1 First day second semester – Proof is submitted by March 1 5. Criteria for MA+30:
a. No duplication of classes previously taken.
b. Course must be:
1) related to current or future teaching assignments
2) minor or major program 3) transcript from an accredited university
c. Does not have to be a graduate level course. (It is the intent to have teachers show some relevance to current teaching assignments or potential future teacher assignment.)
d. It is recommended that MA+30 program classes be discussed with the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
e. Credits for MA+30 must be on file in earned after the office of the Superintendent no later than September 15. Failure to submit the required documents will result in the loss of the increment requested for that full school year. C. The salary schedule is based on upon the regular school year calendar as set forth in Schedule A and the normal teaching assignment as defined in the Agreement. Any teacher contracted work yearwho accepts an additional class for the school year over and above the normal teaching load shall receive a prorated increase (e.g. - 1/5 for a five-hour teaching day or 1/6 for a six-hour teaching day) in their annual base teaching salary or fraction thereof. E. Schedule C positions are those teaching assignments that involve work responsibilities beyond contract time and are not optional. Additional compensation for said position such work shall occur be paid in accordance with Schedule C.
F. Current and said salary made an addendum active job descriptions for Schedule B and Schedule C positions will be on file with both the Association and the Administration. These job descriptions will also be accessible on their respective websites.
G. Employees required in the course of their work to this Agreementdrive personal automobiles from one school building to another shall receive a reimbursement equal to the current IRS approved mileage rate. The same reimbursement shall be given for use of personal cars for approved field trips or other approved business of the district. Appropriate requests for payment of mileage and other expenses shall be turned in to the principal/director on a monthly basis, but at least once each marking period.
▇. Any employee resigning before the completion of the school year has the professional and legal obligation to reimburse the Board for all over-paid monies.
I. Longevity – Employees having the following years of experience employed with Brighton Area Schools shall receive longevity payments in annual amounts as set forth below. By July 1, employees will elect whether to receive their longevity in their first October paycheck or their TSA (October). If the payroll department is not contacted by July 1, the employee’s longevity stipend will be paid out into their first October paycheck. J. Tuition reimbursement/PD/Conference cost reimbursement for required courses (to maintain certification) will be $85,000 annual pool, to be paid out in accordance with the conditions outlined in the tuition reimbursement form included in Appendix A. After all required course reimbursements are paid out, reimbursements for administratively approved professional development (e.g., flex PD, conferences, etc.) may be submitted and will be paid out in the order they were received, until the annual pool is exhausted. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The basic salaries and other compensation of teacher teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in VI-2 Compensation Schedule the appendices which is are attached to hereto and incorporated in this Agreement. Except where noted, this .
B. The salary schedule shall remain be both a minimum and a maximum except as elsewhere expressly provided in effect this Agreement.
C. The Board of Education and Association recognize that special circumstances are involved in the hiring and retention of certain teachers with special training. Therefore, it is agreed that the Board after consultation with the Association may compensate such teachers (using the state teacher shortage area list) up to Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500) above the salary schedule when necessary in order to fill such positions.
D. The Board may allow new teachers credit on the salary schedule for their full years of prior teaching experience up to six (6) years and one (1) year of credit for each further two (2) years of such experience up to a maximum of one (1) year less than the top step of the salary schedule.
1. The Board of Education may exceed above stipulations for credit in areas of high demand as defined by the District, up to full years of prior teaching experience and the Board will notify the President of the Association should any deviation in credit from prior teaching experience be made.
E. All contracts or salary statements shall be drawn on the appropriate degree schedule and salary step according to the following criteria:
1. A teacher who qualifies for a higher degree or salary by the beginning of the school year will be re-issued a salary statement upon presentation of the necessary information. The teacher is responsible to complete the lane-change request form prior to the beginning of the semester they are requesting the salary change. The applicant must also provide official transcripts as soon as available.
2. Teachers teaching part-time or scheduled extra hours shall be paid based on the appropriate salary step with benefits and length of day calculated on a prorated basis. In the case of grades Pre-K—8, teachers shall be paid based on the percentage of normal teaching hours worked. In the case of grades 9—12 teachers, the pro-ration will be based on the number of periods taught times one-fifth (1/5). Paid prorated planning time is already included in this calculation. The Board recognizes that teaching an additional period during the term school day adds extra responsibilities in preparation and grading. Refusal to teach an extra period will not affect the teacher's evaluation. If a probationary teacher is requested to teach an additional period, the Association will be notified in advance.
3. All teachers, including mid-year hires, shall be entitled to advancement on the salary schedule at the beginning of this Agreementthe following school year. The Noble Public Schools If a teacher completes a degree or credit hours which qualify him/her for additional compensation during the first (1st) semester of the school year, he/she shall receive one-half (1/2) the difference between the old and new salary schedule, provided that not more than four (4) semester hours are required. Such contract will administer a payroll system ensuring accurate compensation be adjusted accordingly in the second (2nd) semester.
4. A Masters degree in Social Work or Speech and withholding based Language Pathology that requires fifty (50) or more credit hours, qualifies for MA+20 on information supplied the salary schedule.
5. For the school years of 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024, teachers will be reimbursed by the employeedistrict for their teaching certificate renewals, CTE Certificate renewals, Speech and Language Pathology Licenses, and School Social Work Licenses.
6. Should an error Free daycare will be brought forth offered through Children’s Corner for all IRS eligible dependents of district employees.
F. Employees must complete a full school year to be entitled to any additional annual bonuses. This shall include the early retirement notification incentive, years of service termination pay, sick-day buy back, and the years of service in Greenville (as outlined in the years of service table). Those employees leaving before the completed school year are not entitled to any of these bonuses for the current year. All services provided by staff will be paid for.

Bargaining unit members hired during and after the 2005-06 school year shall have a Master’s degree to be placed on the Master’s Salary Schedule.
D. The Salary Schedule is based upon the regular school calendar and the normal teaching load as defined in this Agreement. For classroom assignments in excess of the normal weekly teaching load, teachers will be madecompensated at the rate of one sixth (1/6) (one fifth 1/5 for grades 9 through 12) of the basic schedule salary. In no circumstance will interest, penalties or double compensation be added or reduced from the corrected amount. All teachers Assignments shall be given full credit made on voluntary basis. Assignment made in excess of the normal weekly teaching load may be taught outside the regular teaching day if the teacher involved agrees to the assignment on a voluntary basis and the BREA is notified.

A teacher engaged during the school day in negotiating a grievance on behalf of the Association shall reimburse the District on a current rate basis those persons sums paid according to the Office of Retirement Services for Association release time when a previous increment scale. H. Each teacher shall have the following two (2) options of pay. Once selection is made it is valid for the fiscal year.

Should an error be brought forth by the employee or the school within five (5) years, a correction will be made. In no circumstance will interest, penalties or double compensation be added or reduced from the corrected amount. All teachers shall be given full credit on this salary schedule set for in VI-2 for full years of outside teaching experience in any school district accredited by the State of Oklahoma. No teacher shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years active duty in the military service, or out-of- state teaching experience as a certified teacher. ., Additional out of state teaching experience may be granted on a case by case basis by the Superintendent/School Board. Placement on the salary schedule shall be in accordance with the teacher’s approved years of experience, highest degree held, and the number of credits earned beyond said degree as reflected in the salary schedule. Salary adjustments, due to increased experience or higher degree or additional credit hours shall be made once a year. Said adjustments will be made at the beginning of each school year and will be effective on the first pay period of that school year. Official transcripts showing the completed course work must be on file in the office of the Superintendent no later than September 15. Failure to submit the required documents will result in the loss of the increment requested for that full school year. The responsibility for submission of the proper documents at the proper place and time is that of the teacher. The salary schedule is based on the regular teacher contracted work year. Teachers who are on an extended year contract shall be paid a pro rata daily rate for those days contracted for above the regular contract year. Teachers who are on a reduced year contract shall have a pro rata daily rate deducted from their contract salary for each day reduced from the regular contract year. Teachers involved in extra duty assignments shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, except for those persons paid according to a previous increment scale. Those persons’ increments shall not be reduced as long as said persons continue to be assigned to the same extra duty. In the event a new extra duty position is created during the term of this Agreement, consultation regarding the salary for said position shall occur and said salary made an addendum to this Agreement.

PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The basic salaries of teacher employees covered by this Agreement are set forth in VI-2 Compensation Schedule A which is attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. Except where noted, this Teachers shall have the option of receiving their salary schedule in 21 or 26 equal increments and shall remain elect their option by July 1 for salary disbursements in effect during the term of this Agreementsucceeding year. The Noble Public Schools will administer a payroll system ensuring accurate compensation Board agrees to adhere to the salaries set forth in Schedules A, B, & C (except as provided in section D below) and withholding based on information supplied by the employee. All teachers any deviation shall be given full credit on this salary schedule set for in VI-2 for full years immediately adjusted upon being brought to the attention of outside teaching experience in any school district accredited by the State of Oklahoma. B. An Employee shall be granted credit for more than five (5) years active duty in the military service, or out-of- state teaching experience as a certified teacher. Additional out of state teaching experience may be granted on a case by case basis by the Superintendent/School Board. Placement placed on the salary schedule step which gives credit for educational preparation and the number of full years of experience as allowed by this paragraph for placement on the salary schedule. All experience credited shall be added together, except as noted below.
1. Experience credit shall be awarded for K-12 teaching experience in either public or non-public schools governed by the provisions of a state teacher certification code. To be credited on the salary schedule for experience, the teacher shall have been a certified teacher during the time of their teaching employment. Experience credit shall not be awarded for practice (student) teaching, day-to- day substitute teaching, private nursery school (day care) teaching, intern teaching (other than in Brighton schools), or graduate assistant or fellowship teaching at colleges or universities whether or not the teacher was certified, or other similar experience. New hire experienced employees may be placed on the salary schedule step of the Board of Education's choosing; however, they shall not be placed on a step that exceeds their total experience. Less than full-time employees shall be notified that they have no rights to a full- time position. Teachers recalled from layoff who have gained additional teaching experience in accordance with the teacher’s approved years provision contained herein (B.1) shall receive salary increment steps provided they agree in writing to have their yearly salary reduced by the gross dollar amount they received in unemployment compensation while laid off.
2. To the extent allowed by law, employees hired previously shall advance to the next step on the salary schedule on the first day of experienceeach school year. To the extent allowed by law, highest degree heldemployees newly hired will advance according to the following:
a. Employees hired before November 1 shall advance to the next step, and subsequent steps, on the number first day of credits earned beyond said degree as reflected in the salary schedule. Salary adjustments, due next school year.
b. Employees hired after October 31 and before April 1 shall advance to increased experience or higher degree or additional credit hours shall be made once a year. Said adjustments will be made the next step at the beginning of each the second semester of the following school year (paid at a rate halfway between the two steps) and will be effective subsequent years (unless hired from a similar position in another educational institution and then they shall advance on the first pay period day of that the next school year).
c. Employees hired after March 31 shall remain on the same pay step for the next school year only and shall advance to the next pay step and subsequent steps on the first day of the following year unless hired from a similar position in another educational institution and then they shall advance on the first day of the next school year).
3. Official transcripts showing Shared and/or abbreviated teaching schedules (see Article 11.C) may at times be beneficial both to the Board and the individual employee. Employees placed on abbreviated schedules shall receive one full year experience step.
4. To the extent allowed by law, an employee advancing from one salary track to another will be placed on the advanced salary track as follows (retroactive if new level is completed course work prior to start of the semester and verification is submitted by the required date): Beginning of the year – Proof is submitted by November 1 First day second semester – Proof is submitted by March 1 5. Criteria for MA+30:
a. No duplication of classes previously taken.
b. Course must be:
1) related to current or future teaching assignments
2) minor or major program 3) transcript from an accredited university
c. Does not have to be a graduate level course. (It is the intent to have teachers show some relevance to current teaching assignments or potential future teacher assignment.)
d. It is recommended that MA+30 program classes be discussed with the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
e. Credits for MA+30 must be on file in earned after the office of the Superintendent no later than September 15. Failure to submit the required documents will result in the loss of the increment requested for that full school year. The responsibility for submission of the proper documents at the proper place and time is that of the teacher. BA/BS.
C. The salary schedule is based on upon the regular school year calendar as set forth in Schedule A and the normal teaching assignment as defined in the Agreement. Any teacher contracted work yearwho accepts an additional class for the school year over and above the normal teaching load shall receive a prorated increase (e.g. - 1/5 for a five-hour teaching day or 1/6 for a six-hour teaching day) in their annual base teaching salary or fraction thereof. Teachers who are on an extended year contract There shall be paid a pro rata daily rate prorating of additional salary for those days contracted for above the regular contract year. Teachers who additional class assignments when such additional assignments are fulfilled on a reduced year contract shall have regular basis for less than a pro rata daily rate deducted from their contract salary for each day reduced from the regular contract full year. D. Employees appointed to extra duty assignments set forth in Schedule B which are attached to and incorporated in this Agreement, shall be compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement, except for those persons paid according to a previous increment scale. Those persons’ increments shall not be reduced as long as said persons continue to be assigned to the same extra dutyAgreement without deviation. In the event no qualified bargaining unit member applies for a new extra duty position is created during Schedule B assignment and the term board hires a non- bargaining unit applicant, the level of this Agreement, consultation regarding compensation may be equal to or less than the salary established in Schedule B.
E. Schedule C positions are those teaching assignments that involve work responsibilities beyond contract time and are not optional. Additional compensation for said position such work shall occur be paid in accordance with Schedule C.
F. Current and said salary made an addendum active job descriptions for Schedule B and Schedule C positions will be on file with both the Association and the Administration. These job descriptions will also be accessible on their respective websites.
G. Employees required in the course of their work to this Agreementdrive personal automobiles from one school building to another shall receive a reimbursement equal to the current IRS approved mileage rate. The same reimbursement shall be given for use of personal cars for approved field trips or other approved business of the district. Appropriate requests for payment of mileage and other expenses shall be turned in to the principal/director on a monthly basis, but at least once each marking period.
H. Any employee resigning before the completion of the school year has the professional and legal obligation to reimburse the Board for all over-paid monies.
I. Longevity – Employees having the following years of experience employed with Brighton Area Schools shall receive longevity payments in annual amounts as set forth below. By July 1, employees will elect whether to receive their longevity in their first October paycheck or their TSA (October). If the payroll department is not contacted by July 1, the employee’s longevity stipend will be paid out into their first October paycheck. J. Tuition reimbursement/PD/Conference cost reimbursement for required courses (to maintain certification) will be $85,000 annual pool, to be paid out in accordance with the conditions outlined in the tuition reimbursement form included in Appendix A. After all required course reimbursements are paid out, reimbursements for administratively approved professional development (e.g., flex PD, conferences, etc.) may be submitted and will be paid out in the order they were received, until the annual pool is exhausted. Only conference registration fees will be reimbursed.
