PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. The salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends of teacher covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedules "A" and "B" which are attached to and incorporated in this Agreement. B. Outside teaching experience in schools of approved standing may be granted at full credit. This provision shall not be retroactive prior to the date of this contract. C. Salary adjustments for advanced training will be made twice each year at the beginning of each semester (pro-rated for second semester) for training completed prior to either date at a state accredited college or university. It shall be the responsibility of the teacher to notify the personnel office within thirty (30) days of the completion of the necessary work and/or confirmation of the degree. D. When normal daily load of any teacher is expanded through assignment of extra students or by changing teacher’s assignment for the day to provide for lack of substitutes, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid $25.00 per class in the Senior High and Middle School. When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily rate for the Middle School and 1/5 for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment. E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school. 1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by the salary schedule. 2. Those staff members who elect the twenty-six (26) payment schedule may select one of two options: a. A lump sum, "balloon" payment representing six (6) equal installments on the last pay date of the school year; b. Continue to receive a paycheck every two weeks throughout the summer until the 26th pay is reached. F. When paydays fall on or during a vacation period, checks shall be issued on the last school day prior to said vacation period except where cash flow will not permit as determined by the Board. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. (Floats shall not be retroactive prior assigned to the date of this contracta teacher.)
C. E. Teachers shall be paid F. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. 8.1 The basic salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends of teacher teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedules "A" and "B" Appendix A which are is attached to and incorporated in into this Agreement. Such salary schedule shall remain in effect for the duration of this Agreement. The rate of salary for teachers employed less than full-time shall be based on the following formula applied to the appropriate salary track and experience level:
A. At the elementary level, the rate shall be determined on the basis of the amount of time assigned to the part-time teacher as a percentage of the total teaching time assigned to a full-time teacher in an equivalent assignment.
B. Outside teaching experience in schools At the middle school, the rate for each exploratory and elective class assigned to a part-time teacher will be one-fifth (1/5) of approved standing may be granted at full credit. This provision shall not be retroactive prior to the date of this contractappropriate full-time salary.
C. Salary adjustments At the high school, the rate for advanced training each class assigned to a part-time teacher will be made twice each year at the beginning of each semester one-fifth (pro-rated for second semester1/5) for training completed prior to either date at a state accredited college or university. D. When normal daily load of any If a part-time teacher is expanded through assigned to more than one building, the rate of salary shall be determined for each building independently as described above and then added together. Additional compensation shall then be added for travel time between buildings based on the rate applied to the level to which the teacher is primarily assigned. The primary assignment is the level at which the greater percentage of time is assigned to the teacher.
8.2 Rates of pay for extra students curricular duties covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix B. Teachers shall inform the District at the time they sign their contract the form they choose for their extra curricular stipend payment. The options shall be:
A. Lump sum payment at end of activity.
B. Prorated payment of stipend included in the remainder of their regular bi-weekly paychecks.
8.3 Tax deductions on teacher lump sum payments shall be made according to the available payroll program which provides the closest approximation of normal bi-weekly levels of deductions. Any changes in lump sum tax deduction programs will be discussed with the Association.
8.4 ▇▇▇ "▇▇+▇▇", "▇▇+▇▇", "▇▇+▇▇" and "MA+45", in the salary classification refer to semester hours of credit earned subsequent to the time the appropriate degree was conferred. The "Specialist" classification refers to those people who have completed an Educational Specialist Degree, which did not necessarily include the award of a Master's Degree. Effective July 1, 2000, bargaining unit members holding Master’s Degrees from programs requiring forty-five (45) or by changing teacher’s assignment more credits shall be placed on the salary schedule at MA+15.
8.5 Credit shall be given for the day to provide for lack a minimum of substitutesfive (5) years of successful teaching, or equivalent experience in other systems or in other work. However, in order to provide intervention services via continue to attract qualified teachers to the Waverly District, at the discretion of the Board, credit may be given for up to ten (10) years. It is understood that this section will not impose any loss or penalty to a teacher previously employed in the Waverly District. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period placed on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily rate for the Middle School and 1/5 for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment.
E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one Step One of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school.
1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by the appropriate salary schedule.
28.6 A written statement from the teacher advising that he/she expects to complete eligible courses (as defined below) must be submitted before August 15. Those staff members who elect An official transcript or a letter of confirmation from the twenty-six (26accredited university or college must be submitted to the Administration before October 1 or the salary increase will be deducted in the next check. When a letter of confirmation is used, an official college transcript must follow no later than February 1 of the current school year. If the official college transcript is not submitted to the Personnel Office by February 1, the salary increase will be deducted in equal portions from subsequent checks. In order for such credits to be eligible to be applied to the salary schedule, the course(s) payment schedule may select shall meet one or more of two optionsthe following criteria:
a. A. Be within the teacher's major or minor field of study.
B. Have a direct relationship to the teaching assignment, the District’s curriculum or educational services, or teaching methods.
C. Be within an approved program leading toward an advanced degree in education or additional certification. A lump sum, "balloon" payment representing six (6) equal installments on the last pay date teacher may request approval of a community college course that meets one or more of the school year;
b. Continue above standards. Such approval must be requested from the administrator responsible for the Personnel Office prior to receive a paycheck every two weeks throughout course enrollment. Any alteration to the summer until above standards accomplished with the 26th pay is reached2006-2007 Master Agreement shall not cause the salary schedule placement of any bargaining unit member made prior to that date to be decreased because the earlier placement conflicts with the revised standards.
F. When paydays fall on or during a vacation period, checks 8.7 All teachers of special education and alternative education/job skills shall receive Four Hundred Five Dollars ($405) over the adopted salary schedule. Special Education shall be issued on the last school day prior to said vacation period except where cash flow will not permit that as determined defined by the Board. Such checks will be cashable on the date issued and shall be reported as income in accordance with I.R.S. tax codeslaw.
G. Any teacher employed outside the school calendar year shall be compensated as described in section E.

C. Salary adjustments 2. A teacher must have completed 7/9 of a school year for advanced training counting full year increment.
3. Courses proposed for advancement on the salary schedule shall be subject to a written pre- approval of the course/program by the Superintendent. A teacher must receive a minimum "B" grade for the course. If the course is only available on a pass/fail system this requirement will be made twice each year at the beginning of each semester (pro-rated for second semester) for training completed prior to either date at a state accredited college or university. It shall be the responsibility of the teacher to notify the personnel office within thirty (30) days of the completion of the necessary work and/or confirmation of the degreewaived.
D. When normal daily load of any teacher is expanded through assignment of extra students 4. Teachers will be allowed to move more than one (1) lane in a given year provided that the following criteria have been met:
a. Teacher has completed appropriate graduate classes or by changing teacher’s assignment for the day to provide for lack of substitutes, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid $25.00 per class in the Senior High and Middle School. When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily rate for the Middle School and 1/5 for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignmentappropriate endorsement credits.
E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of schoolb. Credits have been obtained from an accredited institution.
1. Payment c. Teacher has notified Superintendent by April 1st of twenty-six (26intent to move lane(s) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by on the salary schedule.
d. When moving across the salary matrix to a different lane in any given year, the teacher will also move down one step each year.
e. Exceptions to moving down only one step per year on the salary matrix occur as follows:
1. If a teacher has spent more than one year on the last step in a particular lane, upon moving over to the new lane on the salary matrix, the teacher will be allowed to move down more than one step.
2. Those The number of allowed additional steps down on the salary schedule will correspond with the numbers of years the teacher was frozen at the last step of the previous lane prior to moving over to the new lane.
3. The number of years of service at Centerville may not be accurately reflected by the teacher’s step level on the salary matrix.
5. Teachers shall receive their salary in 12 monthly payments. Payday will be the 15th of each month, beginning in September.
6. Extra duty pay shall be in addition to the basic salary.
7. Teachers shall be compensated for required professional services outside the regular contract day to their current salary rate. For example: curriculum development.
8. Teachers shall be compensated for presenting workshops to fellow staff members. Amounts to be paid are $50 for half day or $100 for full day. In order to qualify for payment the following criteria must be met.
a. Teacher will obtain prior approval of the conference, workshop, etc. from the Superintendent.
b. Teacher needs to apply for the stipend based on the length of their presentation.
c. If the administration requests the teacher to present the workshop, criteria (a) will be waived
9. Early retirement incentive proposals extended at the sole discretion of the Board shall be available to all staff members who elect meet the twenty-six (26) payment schedule may select one of two options:
a. A lump sum, "balloon" payment representing six (6) equal installments on criteria during the last pay date time constraints of the school year;

The stipend shall be paid to said vacation period except where cash flow will not permit the grant writer only if the grant is successful.
12. Certified staff assigned to colony schools shall be provided a stipend of $2000 per year in addition to their salary as determined by Appendix B only if the Boardcolony school to which they are assigned operates on a school week different from the main Centerville school. Such checks will be cashable The stipend shall not apply to certified staff assigned to colony schools that operate on the date issued and shall be reported same number of days per week as income in accordance with I.R.S. tax codesthe main Centerville school.

When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. A teacher must be teaching in the position of additional responsibility for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment.
E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school.
1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by consecutive days. Time in said position less than that stipulated (21 school days) shall be remunerated at the rate of $30 per hour. After twenty-one (21) consecutive school days at the hourly rate, the teacher shall receive retroactively per diem remuneration to first day of consecutive employment.
C. Teachers of Homebound students will be compensated at $21.00 per hour.
D. The Superintendent may place a newly employed teacher or a teacher returning to the system after a break in service of one (1) year or more, excluding approved leaves of absence or layoffs, at any Step on the salary schedule. It is understood that a teacher shall not be given experience credit on the salary schedule in excess of his/her teaching or related experience, but may be placed on the salary schedule at any Step up to his/her years of experience. Signing of the individual contract by the teacher shall constitute agreement with the placement on the salary schedule and said teacher shall have no legal recourse regarding such placement. A vocational teacher not holding a degree but certified by the State will be placed on the salary schedule no higher than the bachelor's maximum. Credit for experience in that vocation may be given at the rate of one (1) year for every year of work experience beyond four (4) years.

Each yearly payment will be paid in a lump sum no later than June 30 with each payment to be made at the end of the year as specified in the schedule below. It is understood that longevity pay shall be compensated computed on the basis of years service in the L'Anse Creuse Public Schools school district. Teachers that were receiving longevity during the 2015- 16 school year and are not yet to 17 years of service will continue to receive longevity at the rate received during the 2015-16 school year until they reach their seventeenth year. G. Teachers who, in the course of their work, are required to move from one school building to another shall receive an allowance per mile one way as described paid by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) based upon the official district mileage chart. 1% on the top step (16) of the salary schedule, with full payout no later than the end of the 2020-2021 school year for all bargaining unit members on the top step (16) prior to 8/1/2020. All active bargaining unit members at the secondary level shall receive 27 hours per semester quarantine and/or virtual preparation off-schedule payment, no later than the end of the 2020-2021 school year at the rate of $21 per hour. The amount shall be prorated based on hire date in section E.the 2020-2021 school year and for any leaves in excess of five (5) consecutive school days, excluding quarantine and/or COVID-19 positive leaves. All active bargaining unit members at the elementary level shall receive 18 hours per trimester quarantine and/or virtual preparation off-schedule payment, no later than the end of the 2020-2021 school year at the rate of $21 per hour. The amount shall be prorated based on hire date in the 2020-2021 school year and for any leaves in excess of five (5) consecutive school days, excluding quarantine and/or COVID-19 positive leaves. Teachers shall report to their assignments a maximum of two (2) full work days, (no longer than required for PD to count as instructional time per day), prior to the scheduled first day of school for students, provided these scheduled days are eligible professional development days counting as instructional time. No day shall be scheduled prior to the scheduled first day of school for students if the day is not an eligible professional development day counting as instructional time.

PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. Section 1: The salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends salary ranges of teacher teachers covered by this Agreement are shall be on a regular teacher contract year basis and is set forth in Schedules "Appendix A" and "B" which are , attached to and incorporated in into this Agreement. The Superintendent, or designee, will evaluate the training and experience of all applicants for certified positions. Experience will be evaluated as to its value to the School Corporation and credit may or may not be allowed for any or all prior teaching experience. Training will be established by an official transcript furnished by the teacher to the School Corporation. The Superintendent, or designee, will evaluate the experience of the teacher and determine where the teacher will be placed on the salary range at the time of the initial hiring of the teacher. An earned Master’s degree will be recognized when the applicant’s salary is set. This determination will not be subject to review under the grievance procedure or otherwise. The teacher acknowledges that the initial determination as to the placement on the salary range shall continue to remain in place for all future years. The teacher acknowledges that there will be no future retroactive determination of actual experience for the purpose of advancing the teacher on the salary range.
B. Outside teaching experience Section 2: The schedule of additional teacher compensation for extra-curricular time and responsibilities is set forth in schools of approved standing may Appendix B, attached to and incorporated into this Agreement. With respect to Appendix B:
a. If two (2) or more teachers share additional time and responsibilities for the same position, the scheduled compensation shall be granted at full credit. This provision shall not be retroactive prior to the date of this contract.
C. Salary adjustments for advanced training will be made twice each year at the beginning of each semester (pro-rated for second semesterbetween them unless otherwise indicated.
b. The cost of a temporary replacement in extra-curricular activities as provided in Appendix B shall be pro-rated and deducted from the scheduled compensation of a teacher assigned an extra-curricular activity whenever a teacher must be replaced by a substitute because of temporary absence or incapacity. The substitute shall be approved and pro-rated pay authorized through the building principal. The compensation shall then be paid to the substitute on a pro-rated basis.
c. The Board is not obligated to appoint a teacher to any extra-curricular position listed. It is understood that the Board shall determine the number of positions in each designation on the extra-curricular schedule. The Board is not prevented from establishing extra-curricular duties not presently listed, provided compensation is comparable to other similar duties and is discussed with the SACTA President or his/her designee before the position is filled. Section 3: Adjustments in teacher pay, including any stipends, shall be made in accordance with the Compensation Model (Appendix C) for training completed prior as it may be adjusted from time to either date at a state accredited college or university. time by agreement of the Superintendent and the SACTA Bargaining Team.

2. Those staff members who elect the twenty-six (26) payment schedule may select one of two options:

PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. Section 1: The salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends salary ranges of teacher teachers covered by this Agreement are shall be on a regular teacher contract year basis and is set forth in Schedules "Appendix A" and "B" which are , attached to and incorporated in into this Agreement. The Superintendent, or designee, will evaluate the training and experience of all applicants for certified positions. Experience will be evaluated as to its value to the School Corporation and credit may or may not be allowed for any or all prior teaching experience. Training will be established by an official transcript furnished by the teacher to the School Corporation. The Superintendent, or designee, will evaluate the experience of the teacher and determine where the teacher will be placed on the salary range at the time of the initial hiring of the teacher. The teacher acknowledges that the initial determination as to the placement on the salary range shall continue to remain in place for all future years. When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily diem rate for the Middle School and 1/5 duration of their assignment. A teacher must be teaching in the position of additional responsibility for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment.
E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school.
1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by consecutive days. Time in said position less than that stipulated (21 school days) shall be remunerated at the rate of $30 per hour. After twenty- one (21) consecutive school days at the hourly rate, the teacher shall receive retroactively per diem remuneration to first day of consecutive employment.
C. Teachers of Homebound students will be compensated at $40 per hour.
D. The Superintendent may place a newly employed teacher or a teacher returning to the system after a break in service of one (1) year or more, excluding approved leaves of absence or layoffs, at any Step on the salary schedule. It is understood that a teacher shall not be given experience credit on the salary schedule in excess of his/her teaching or related experience, but may be placed on the salary schedule at any Step up to his/her years of experience. Signing of the individual contract by the teacher shall constitute agreement with the placement on the salary schedule and said teacher shall have no legal recourse regarding such placement. A vocational teacher not holding a degree but certified by the State will be placed on the salary schedule no higher than the bachelor's maximum. Credit for experience in that vocation may be given at the rate of one (1) year for every year of work experience beyond four (4) years.

PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. 8.1 The basic salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends of teacher teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedules "A" and "B" Appendix A which are is attached to and incorporated in into this Agreement. Such salary schedule shall remain in effect for the duration of this Agreement. The rate of salary for teachers employed less than full-time shall be based on the following formula applied to the appropriate salary track and experience level:
A. At the K-6 level, the rate shall be determined on the basis of the amount of time assigned to the part-time teacher as a percentage of the total teaching time assigned to a full-time teacher in an equivalent assignment.
B. Outside teaching experience At the middle school, the rate for each exploratory and elective class assigned to a part-time teacher will be the pro-rated portion of the student day based upon the appropriate full-time salary.
C. At the high school, the rate for each class assigned to a part-time teacher will be the pro-rated portion of the student day based upon the appropriate full-time salary.
D. If a part-time teacher is assigned to more than one building, the rate of salary shall be determined for each building independently as described above and then added together. Additional compensation shall then be added for travel time between buildings based on the rate applied to the level to which the teacher is primarily assigned. The primary assignment is the level at which the greater percentage of time is assigned to the teacher.
8.2 Rates of pay for extra curricular duties covered by this Agreement are set forth in schools Appendix B. Teachers shall inform the District at the time they sign their contract the form they choose for their extra curricular stipend payment. The options shall be:
A. Lump sum payment at end of approved standing activity.
B. Prorated payment of stipend included in the remainder of their regular bi-weekly paychecks.
8.3 A teacher may voluntarily execute the necessary tax forms to adjust deductions on lump sum payments in accordance with the IRS code. Adjustments must be granted made at full credit. This provision shall not be retroactive least two weeks prior to the date of this contractscheduled pay date.
C. Salary adjustments for advanced training 8.4 The "BA+20," "MA+15," "MA+30," and "MA+45" in the salary classification refer to semester hours of credit earned subsequent to the time the appropriate degree was conferred. A bargaining unit member who has earned a PhD will be made twice each year placed on the MA +45 salary classification provided that the degree is either within the bargaining unit member’s area(s) of certification or the program content is approved by the Board for salary placement purposes. Effective July 1, 2000, bargaining unit members holding Master’s Degrees from programs requiring forty-five (45) or more credits shall be placed on the salary schedule at "MA+15."
8.5 In order to continue to attract qualified teachers to the Waverly District, at the beginning discretion of each semester the Board, credit may be given for up to twelve (pro-rated for second semester12) for training years of successful teaching, or equivalent experience in other systems or in other work. First year teachers who have completed prior to either date at a state accredited college an approved teacher preparation program requiring an internship of actual student teaching experience equaling 28 or university. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily rate for the Middle School and 1/5 for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment.
E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school.
1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by the appropriate salary schedule.
28.6 A written statement from the teacher advising that they/she/he expects to complete eligible courses (as defined below) must be submitted before August 15. PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. B. Outside teaching At the middle school, the rate for each exploratory and elective class assigned to a part-time teacher will be one-fifth (1/5) of the appropriate full-time salary.
C. At the high school, the rate for each class assigned to a part-time teacher will be one-fifth (1/5) of the appropriate full-time salary.
D. If a part-time teacher is assigned to more than one building, the rate of salary shall be determined for each building independently as described above and then added together. Additional compensation shall then be added for travel time between buildings based on the rate applied to the level to which the teacher is primarily assigned. The primary assignment is the level at which the greater percentage of time is assigned to the teacher.
8.2 Rates of pay for extra curricular duties covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix B. Teachers shall inform the District at the time they sign their contract the form they choose for their extra curricular stipend payment. The options shall be:
A. Lump sum payment at end of activity.
B. Prorated payment of stipend included in the remainder of their regular bi-weekly paychecks.
8.3 Tax deductions on teacher lump sum payments shall be made according to the available payroll program which provides the closest approximation of normal biweekly levels of deductions. Any changes in lump sum tax deduction programs will be discussed with the Association.
8.4 ▇▇▇ "▇▇+▇▇", "▇▇+▇▇", "▇▇+▇▇" and "MA+45", in the salary classification refer to semester hours of credit earned subsequent to the time the appropriate degree was conferred. A bargaining unit member who has earned a PhD will be placed on the MA +45 salary classification provided that the degree is either within the bargaining unit member’s area(s) of certification or the program content is approved by the Board for salary placement purposes. Effective July 1, 2000, bargaining unit members holding Master’s Degrees from programs requiring forty-five (45) or more credits shall be placed on the salary schedule at MA+15.
8.5 Credit shall be given for a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching, or equivalent experience in schools other systems or in other work. However, in order to continue to attract qualified teachers to the Waverly District, at the discretion of approved standing the Board, credit may be granted at full creditgiven for up to twelve (12) years. 12.6 Homebound teachers and tutoring teachers shall be paid portal to portal at an hourly rate based on the base salary of the current salary schedule. For the purposes of this section, the hourly rate shall be based on the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour teacher work day.
12.7 Except in extreme emergencies, a teacher shall not be required to give up planning time in order to serve as a substitute, in which case the teacher shall be paid at an hourly rate based on the base salary of the current teacher’s compensation model. For the purposes of this section, the hourly rate shall be based on the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour teacher work day.
12.8 Teachers are urged to volunteer for such duties as cafeteria duty, noon playground duty, and bus supervision on a full-time basis. Teachers shall be paid for these duties according to the Extra Duties and Responsibilities Pay Schedule. When no teacher is available, a teacher-aide shall be hired to perform the duty. Middle and senior high school teachers shall be offered hall and gym duty on a full-time basis. Teachers accepting these duties shall be paid according to the Extra Duties and Responsibilities Pay Schedule. When no teacher accepts hall or twentygym duty on a full-time basis, teachers shall be on a rotating basis with pay. Members of the bargaining unit will not be required to perform mid-morning and/or mid-afternoon recess duty.
12.9 Teachers who are assigned to more than one (211) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated school in any one (1) school day shall receive mileage expense at the rate designated by the salary scheduleU.S. Internal Revenue Service.

12.12 Each teacher shall be reported provided an identification card which may be used as income a free admission pass to all Merrillville School athletic events, plays, concerts, etc. for which gate receipts are not shared with the Indiana High School Athletic Association or other school corporations. Article 13 - Effect of the Agreement
13.1 The parties mutually agree that the terms and conditions set forth in accordance with I.R.S. tax codesthis Agreement represent the full and complete understanding and commitment between the parties hereto which may be altered, changed, added to, deleted from, or modified only through the voluntary, mutual consent of the parties in an amendment hereto.

Any teacher employed outside 13.2 Should any article, section, or clause of this Agreement be declared illegal by a court of competent jurisdiction, or the school calendar year IEERB, said article, section, or clause, as the case may be, shall be compensated as described automatically deleted from this Agreement to the extent that it violates the law, but the remaining articles, sections and clauses shall remain in section E.full force and effect for the duration of the Agreement, if not affected by the deleted article, section, or clause.

Time in said position less than that stipulated (21 school days) shall be remunerated at the rate of $30 per hour. After twenty-one (21) consecutive school days at the hourly rate, the teacher shall receive retroactively per diem remuneration to first day of consecutive employment.
C. Teachers of Homebound students will be compensated at $40 per hour.
D. The Superintendent may place a newly employed teacher or a teacher returning to the system after a break in service of one (1) year or more, excluding approved leaves of absence or layoffs, at any Step on the salary schedule. It is understood that a teacher shall not be given experience credit on the salary schedule in excess of his/her teaching or related experience, but may be placed on the salary schedule at any Step up to his/her years of experience. Signing of the individual contract by the teacher shall constitute agreement with the placement on the salary schedule and said teacher shall have no legal recourse regarding such placement. A vocational teacher not holding a degree but certified by the State will be placed on the salary schedule no higher than the bachelor's maximum. Credit for experience in that vocation may be given at the rate of one (1) year for every year of work experience beyond four (4) years.

PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. 1. The professional compensation of members employed by the District is set forth-in Appendix A. The salaries Placement on the schedule will be according to number of prior years' experience allowed and supplemental Schedule B stipends educational level as verified to the District.
2. For the 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21 school years, bargaining unit members will receive a 2% COLA increase in each year accordance with the salary KFCS/KFEA schedule attached in Appendix ▇-▇, ▇-▇, ▇-▇.

If a member completes the approved necessary credits for advancement to a higher educational level on the compensation schedule, an adjustment in placement on the schedule will be retroactive made. This adjustment will be effective in the appropriate school yea r only if the member notifies the Superintendent/designee in writing prior to October of said year with proper verification of having successfully completed the date approved course work.
7. A member shall be advanced one-step on the salary schedule based upon satisfactory performance for each school year.
8. For the purposes of salary schedule advancement, one (I) year of experience shall be defined as 110 or more working days of satisfactory teaching employment, one-half ( I /2) day or more, of the same school year in the District.
9. During each school year of the term of this contract.
C. Salary adjustments , each member who has been teaching in Klamath Falls City Schools for advanced training a period of seven (7) years or more and who does not advance on any salary column from his/her position during the previous year and does not advance to another salary column, either because of additional education or because of additional experience, will be made twice each year paid 3% of that year's base salary in a lump sum, separate check payment no later than June 1st of the contract year; provided, however, that a member who notifies the District at the beginning of each semester (pro-rated for second semester) for training completed prior to either date at a state accredited college or university. D. When normal daily load of any teacher is expanded through assignment of extra students or by changing teacher’s assignment for the day to provide for lack of substitutes, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid $25.00 per class in the Senior High and Middle School. When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period intent to retire during or at the end of that year shall have the option to receive one-ninth (1/9) of 3% of the base salary during each month of his/her employment.
10. Speech language pathologists will receive an annual stipend of $5,000. This will be retroactive to 7/1/08.
11. The District will provide a $5,000 signing incentive for difficult to fill positions. These positions will be identified on an ongoing annual basis by the Contract Maintenance Committee by February 1st of each year. The signing incentive will be paid to take the successful candidate over a two-year period. The candidate will have a choice of having the incentive paid on a monthly basis or in two lump sums of $2,500 in his/her September pay check.
12. Employees who have multiple endorsements and are using these multiple endorsements in their assigned teaching assignment will receive an annual stipend equal to 2.5% of the base (BA Step 0) This will be retroactive to 7/1/08.
13. Professional Compensation Elementary teachers (not including special education teachers, or specialists such as music teachers) who teach split classes seventy-five percent (75%) or more of the day in their teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or will receive an annual stipend equal to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one2.5% of base salary schedule (BA+0 Step 0). To this end the Board agrees to reimburse a teacher, upon proper application, for tuition required to earn graduate credits in courses related to the teacher's teaching areas or other courses approved in advance by the Superintendent. To be eligible for reimbursement, the teacher must submit a transcript documenting satisfactory completion of such courses, along with receipts documenting tuition expenditures. Such tuition shall be reimbursed for a maximum of twenty (20) credits beyond the BA+18 required by law, and shall be limited to fifty percent (50%) of the completion tuition charged by public universities in the State of Michigan. In the event a teacher selects a private institution, the reimbursement shall be fifty percent (50%) of the necessary work and/or confirmation amount derived from averaging the then current tuition charged by Western Michigan University, Michigan State University, and University of the degreeMichigan.
D. When normal daily load F. Should a teacher earn a second Masters Degree while employed by the District, the Board agrees to compensate the teacher with a one-time stipend of any $1500. C. A teacher engaged during the school day in negotiating on behalf of the degreeAssociation with any representative of the Board or participating in the formal grievance procedure of this Agreement shall be released from regular duties without loss of salary.

When paydays fall on or during Elementary teachers who must take their classes when a vacation period, checks shall be issued on the last school day prior to said vacation period except where cash flow will regularly scheduled special teacher is not permit as determined by the Board. If a teacher dies prior to receiving all of his/her earned pay, the remainder owed the teacher shall be paid in a lump sum to the beneficiary named on his/her school corporation life insurance policy. If there is no beneficiary named on his/her school corporation life insurance policy, the remainder owed the teacher shall be paid in a lump sum to the estate of the teacher.
12.6 Homebound teachers and tutoring teachers shall be paid portal to portal at an hourly rate based on the base salary of the current salary schedule. For the purposes of this section, the hourly rate shall be based on the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour teacher work day.
12.7 Except in extreme emergencies, a teacher shall not be required to give up planning time in order to serve as a substitute, in which case the teacher shall be paid at an hourly rate based on the base salary of the current teacher’s compensation model. For the purposes of this section, the hourly rate shall be based on the seven and one-half (7 1/2) hour teacher work day.
12.8 Teachers are urged to volunteer for such duties as cafeteria duty, noon playground duty, and bus supervision on a full-time basis. Teachers shall be paid for these duties according to the Extra Duties and Responsibilities Pay Schedule. When no teacher is available, a teacher-aide shall be hired to perform the duty. Middle and senior high school teachers shall be offered hall and gym duty on a full-time basis. Teachers accepting these duties shall be paid according to the Extra Duties and Responsibilities Pay Schedule. When no teacher accepts hall or twentygym duty on a full-time basis, teachers shall be on a rotating basis with pay. Members of the bargaining unit will not be required to perform mid-morning and/or mid-afternoon recess duty.
12.9 Teachers who are assigned to more than one (211) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated school in any one (1) school day shall receive mileage expense at the rate designated by the salary scheduleU.S. Internal Revenue Service.

12.12 Each teacher shall be reported provided an identification card which may be used as income in accordance a free admission pass to all Merrillville School athletic events, plays, concerts, etc. for which gate receipts are not shared with I.R.S. tax codesthe Indiana High School Athletic Association or other school corporations.

Time in said position less than that stipulated (21 school days) shall be remunerated at the hourly rate. After twenty-one (21) consecutive school days at the hourly rate, the teacher shall receive retroactively per diem remuneration to first day of consecutive employment.
C. Teachers of Homebound students will be compensated at $21.00 per hour. If reinstated, teachers of driver education classes and withholdings as indicated by behind the wheel instruction shall be compensated at an hourly rate to be negotiated at that time.
D. The Superintendent may place a newly employed teacher or a teacher returning to the system after a break in service of one (1) year or more, excluding approved leaves of absence or layoffs, at any Step on the salary schedule. It is understood that a teacher shall not be given experience credit on the salary schedule in excess of his/her teaching or related experience, but may be placed on the salary schedule at any Step up to his/her years of experience. Signing of the individual contract by the teacher shall constitute agreement with the placement on the salary schedule and said teacher shall have no legal recourse regarding such placement. A vocational teacher not holding a degree but certified by the State will be placed on the salary schedule no higher than the bachelor's maximum. Credit for experience in that vocation may be given at the rate of one (1) year for every year of work experience beyond four (4) years.

PROFESSIONAL COMPENSATION. A. 8.1 The basic salaries and supplemental Schedule B stipends of teacher teachers covered by this Agreement are set forth in Schedules "A" and "B" Appendix A which are is attached to and incorporated in into this Agreement. Such salary schedule shall remain in effect for the duration of this Agreement. The rate of salary for teachers employed less than full-time shall be based on the following formula applied to the appropriate salary track and experience level:
A. At the elementary level, the rate shall be determined on the basis of the amount of time assigned to the part-time teacher as a percentage of the total teaching time assigned to a full-time teacher in an equivalent assignment.
B. Outside teaching At the middle school, the rate for each exploratory and elective class assigned to a part-time teacher will be one-fifth (1/5) of the appropriate full-time salary.
C. At the high school, the rate for each class assigned to a part-time teacher will be one-fifth (1/5) of the appropriate full-time salary.
D. If a part-time teacher is assigned to more than one building, the rate of salary shall be determined for each building independently as described above and then added together. Additional compensation shall then be added for travel time between buildings based on the rate applied to the level to which the teacher is primarily assigned. The primary assignment is the level at which the greater percentage of time is assigned to the teacher.
8.2 Rates of pay for extra curricular duties covered by this Agreement are set forth in Appendix B. Teachers shall inform the District at the time they sign their contract the form they choose for their extra curricular stipend payment. The options shall be:
A. Lump sum payment at end of activity.
B. Prorated payment of stipend included in the remainder of their regular bi-weekly paychecks.
8.3 Tax deductions on teacher lump sum payments shall be made according to the available payroll program which provides the closest approximation of normal biweekly levels of deductions. Any changes in lump sum tax deduction programs will be discussed with the Association.
8.4 The "BA+20", "MA+15", "MA+30" and "MA+45", in the salary classification refer to semester hours of credit earned subsequent to the time the appropriate degree was conferred. A bargaining unit member who has earned a PhD will be placed on the MA+45 salary classification provided that the degree is either within the bargaining unit member’s area(s) of certification or the program content is approved by the Board for salary placement purposes. Effective July 1, 2000, bargaining unit members holding Master’s Degrees from programs requiring forty-five (45) or more credits shall be placed on the salary schedule at MA+15.
8.5 Credit shall be given for a minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching, or equivalent experience in schools other systems or in other work. However, in order to continue to attract qualified teachers to the Waverly District, at the discretion of approved standing the Board, credit may be granted at full creditgiven for up to twelve (12) years. This provision shall It is understood that this section will not be retroactive result either in any gain or in any loss or penalty to a teacher first employed in the Waverly District prior to the effective date of this contract.
C. Salary adjustments for advanced training will be made twice each the successor contract to the 2008-2010 Master Agreement. First year at the beginning teachers who have completed an approved teacher preparation program requiring an internship of each semester (pro-rated for second semester) for training completed prior to either date at a state accredited college actual student teaching experience equaling 28 or university. It more weeks of classroom teaching, shall be the responsibility placed on Step One of the teacher to notify the personnel office within thirty (30) days of the completion of the necessary work and/or confirmation of the degree.
D. When normal daily load of any teacher is expanded through assignment of extra students or by changing teacher’s assignment for the day to provide for lack of substitutes, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid $25.00 per class in the Senior High and Middle School. When pupils in any elementary class are divided among several teachers, said teachers shall be paid at a total rate per day not to exceed substitute pay plus $5.00 and to be divided among teachers involved. When any senior high or Middle School teacher forgoes his/her preparation period on an ongoing basis to take a teaching assignment, other than as a substitute for a teacher absent from their classroom, or to provide intervention services via an independent program, said teacher shall be paid one-sixth of their daily rate for the Middle School and 1/5 for the High School per lost preparation period. All available qualified teachers shall have the opportunity to voluntarily apply for such an assignment.
E. Teachers shall be paid their regular salaries (not to include Schedule B duties) according to one of the following schedules with each staff member having the option of choosing one of these schedules which shall be indicated no later than the first week of school.
1. Payment of twenty-six (26) or twenty-one (21) equal installments with deductions and withholdings as indicated by the appropriate salary schedule.
28.6 A written statement from the teacher advising that he/she expects to complete eligible courses (as defined below) must be submitted before August 15. Those staff members who elect An official transcript or a letter of confirmation from the twenty-six (26accredited university or college must be submitted to the Administration before October 1 or the salary increase will be deducted in the next check. When a letter of confirmation is used, an official college transcript must follow no later than February 1 of the current school year. If the official college transcript is not submitted to the Personnel Office by February 1, the salary increase will be deducted in equal portions from subsequent checks. In order for such credits to be eligible to be applied to the salary schedule, the course(s) payment schedule may select shall meet one or more of two optionsthe following criteria:
a. A. Be within the teacher's major or minor field of study.
B. Have a direct relationship to the teaching assignment, the District’s curriculum or educational services, or teaching methods.
C. Be within an approved program leading toward an advanced degree in education or additional certification. A lump sum, "balloon" payment representing six (6) equal installments on the last pay date teacher may request approval of a community college course that meets one or more of the school year;
b. Continue above standards. Such approval must be requested from the administrator responsible for the Personnel Office prior to receive a paycheck every two weeks throughout course enrollment. Any alteration to the summer until above standards accomplished with the 26th pay is reached2006-2007 Master Agreement shall not cause the salary schedule placement of any bargaining unit member made prior to that date to be decreased because the earlier placement conflicts with the revised standards.
F. When paydays fall on or during a vacation period, checks 8.7 All teachers of special education and alternative education/job skills shall receive Four Hundred Five Dollars ($405) over the adopted salary schedule. Special Education shall be issued on the last school day prior to said vacation period except where cash flow will not permit that as determined defined by the Board. Such checks will be cashable on the date issued and shall be reported as income in accordance with I.R.S. tax codeslaw.
G. Any teacher employed outside the school calendar year shall be compensated as described in section E.
