Professional Employee. Any person employed by the Board in a position which requires a certificate issued by the State Board of Education or employed in a professional educational or instructional capacity by the Board; provided, the term "professional employee" shall not include any person who is an administrative employee, or who is employed by the Board as a school psychologist, or as a substitute teacher.

All employees of the District who are licensed by state law and for whom the Association is the bargaining agent, excluding administrators, teachers retired through the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, classified, non-licensed employees, administrators/supervisors and substitute teachers.

Professional Employee. All full-time and part-time professional employees as defined in K.S.A.72-2218 who are not retireants from the Kansas Public Retirement System, including but not limited to the positions of teacher, counselor, and librarian.
