Programmed Leave Without Pay. A. Requirements: If an Agency Head suspends the work performed by an employee for more than one (1) week, but no more than eight (8) work weeks in a calendar year, the employee may choose to be laid off pursuant to Article 3.11 of this Agreement, or to take programmed leave without pay if that option is offered by the Director, or designee. An employee who is on programmed leave without pay may choose to use annual leave for any portion of that leave. B. Duration: No more than sixty (60) days of programmed leave without pay shall be available pursuant to any one suspension of work by an Agency Head.
