Common use of Project Commencement Clause in Contracts

Project Commencement. ‌ The grantee must take reasonable steps to commence project activities upon receiving notice of a grant award. If a project is not operational within 90 days of the original start date of the award period or grant award date as noted on this memorandum, whichever is later, the grantee must submit a statement to OOG explaining the implementation delay. Upon receipt of the 90-day letter, OOG may cancel the project and redistribute the funds to other project areas. OOG may also, where extenuating circumstances warrant, extend the implementation date of the project past the 90-day period.
